Completely awesome man, congrats! I've been wondering what a winning ticket looked like for 30 years!

Congrats. Now keep the luck going. Go bust a box of Exquisite and pull a Tiger/Jordan.

Isn't is more in the 40% range?

Hell you can minimize the amount of tax you pay.

Wait a second. No cut sig, no logo patch, not a rookie and not a 1/1. Not even a bit of DNA from something dead....could it really be worth anything?

It says match any of your numbers to the winning numbers and win the prize shown. He matched up #33 and it has $25 000 prize under it.

 :o WoWoWoWEEEEE!!!!! :o

Congratulations buddy, that is extremely awesome (it may be the sweetest "hit" I've seen pulled on these board's)! ;) My question to you is, you did purchase that ticket correct (meaning a buddy/loved one didn't give it to you as a gift or anything like that right)? I just wanna make sure this wasn't some cruel joke & on the back in small print it reads: "Winning ticket's of $100 or more must be sent by mail or in person to the Money Fairy, 123 NoWhere Drive, in Make-Believe Land. Valid only in your dreams. Any resemblance to a real or implied lottery ticket is what makes it fun. THIS TICKET FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. Thanks for being a good sport. ODDS OF WINNING: 0 in 10,000"

Although the above would be hillarious to find out, it also would be pretty sad as I know the OP would be miserable & pretty damn upset!

Again, CONGRATULATIONS bud (buy some boxes or a case or 5)! :D

Technically, he's wouldn't be "cheating the government" at all.
You have to include winnings on your taxes -- sure, everyone knows that.
But what a lot of people don't realize is that you can actually itemize some losses. If he really wanted to take the time to do it, then he could accumulate all of his losing tickets and write off the loss. I mean, isn't it only fair since he has to include his winnings on taxes?
I doubt he has his losers, though. Writing off losses is usually reserved for big spenders.
