I often see guys at the bodega near my office plucking all the loosing scratch off tickets out of the garbage.
I was told that they can offset a big win by having a ton of loosing tickets....

Congrats on the win, scratch off tickets are such a statistical mess they are often referred to as a tax on stupidity.

Is the losing (one "o" folks ;) ) ticket enough of proof of purchase? Or would you need a receipt?

thanks for all the well wishes everyone. it was for real and not a cruel joke as i actually purchased the ticket myself while getting fuel for my truck. cashed it in thos morning and uncle sam got his share up front which was fine with me as i don't have to keep up with it now. as the other poster stated, i do keep up with all my losing tickets so now it might actually be worth something to keep them. i've been out PAYING OFF BILLS all day and treated myself to 2 boxes of topps chrome football and a box of donruss classics football. shop didn't have any bowman chrome in stock but our buddy andrew (all-in-cards) has taken care of that problem for me.

again, thanks everyone!

Congrats! I love scratch cards. When we went to LA/San Diego over the Labor Day weekend I bought a few of the $5 ones at a 7-11. I ended up cashing in $110, which wasn't bad for only spending $15. I didn't push my luck anyfurther. Have fun whatever you end up doing with the money!
