Congrats on the new place! Any other units available in that place? I'm PRETTY SURE I wouldn't mind making the move - golf course, gym, pool, etc.... I'm up in Minot, North Dakota and I'm paying the exact same (little more) for a place that's not even as big as yours. It's starting to get a little more expensive here though because of all the oil riggers in the area - a lot of renters have raised their prices because they can - riggers make a lot of money and need a temporary place to stay.

Btw, your PC is SICK!!! I mostly enjoyed the Ripken /5 - the A-Rod Auto/GU - and the Yogi Patch Auto! Congrats on an amazing PC and good luck with everything at the new place!

Budgeting is tough. I've been on that even more so since I ceased to live alone a bit over a year ago. Basically I have $20/week plus my money from selling. :?

But that is seriously a great price. When I lived in a 1 bedroom I paid $670/month, which was kind of a mid-level price for the Milwaukee area. So, Milwaukee ain't cheap either!

Good luck in the new place!

Good luck on your search for an apartment with your girlfriend...

I remember myself living in 2 different apartments in 4 years, until I took a leap of faith by buying a single-family home. My biggest investment ever, and it can bring headaches (whenever there's a major problem on a home such as leaking roof)...

Any thoughts of popping the question to your girl anytime soon? ;)

If living on your own is something you want bad enough, then you wont have too much of a hard time not spending on cards....

Its after you have it all figured out, and when you know how to budget better (you can plan a budget, but living it isnt the same). Thats when you go back to the old habits of spending on cards.

I have been doing it for 5 years now, paying rent and buying cards. I also have more income now, and I make sure all of my bills get paid, and money into the savings first. After that if I have left overs, I treat myself. I work hard for the money, therefore I am entitled to enjoy spending some of it.

There are expensive places to live here like any other state, but on average it's easier to get a bigger and/or nicer place for much cheaper than a coastal state.

There's an obvious reason for that. The rent for my place is $750 per month, but it's split between two people. Not bad for 2 bed, 2 bath, 2 miles from the beach.

EDIT: And Torrey Pines is close if you're into that kind of thing, I'm not ;)

Wow, you have some nerve posting about saving money like that! ::facepalm::

That is a STEAL on rent for that type of space and amenities. If I didn't love NY so much, I would move there in a heartbeat!

I live in White Plains, NY and my rent is $1900/month! That is the cheapest in the area for all the amenities I get.

He lives in Kansas. That's why it's so cheap. Outside of the big cities (basically Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul) living in the Midwest is pretty damn cheap.

BE CAREFUL for this...It is likey to happen, and always turns into a fight. If you have the ability to buy stuff now, ask her what she thinks you can pick up for the new place. Let her know you are willing, able, and interested. Also prevents the "why do I have to do it all..." fight. That one is quick to follow.

Amen brother!
Isn't golf just a relaxing sport.....well when your having a good day lol.

My last round of golf I hit ball on the green under a foot from the hole. Then I two-putted.

When I got home I gave my clubs to a neighbor kid. It's probably the last time I'll play golf. I don't find it relaxing or enjoyable.
