So the yearly Jimmy Fund Raiser at Jillians in Boston was today. Last year's event was phenomenal with around 20 guests. I'm going to be updating this through the night with different players posts and experiences with them. The guest list for this year had been announced as Ryan Westmoreland, Casey Kelly, Luis Exposito, Ryan Kalish, Jeremy Hermida, Manny Delcarmen, Josh Reddick and Trot Nixon. Then earlier this week they added Curt Schilling to the list. I was super pumped for this addition because he would be a huge add to my 04 ALCS Pennant. They said Curt would only be there for a half hour, so we had to get there early!

We got there fairly early, and I had all the Razor Metals of Kelly and Westmoreland to hopefully get signed, and Emily had Lil' Papi to hopefully get pictures taken. They said right away that there would be no pictures with Schilling in order to get the line going fast. So Emily had to audible and he did sign my ALCS Pennant, but no picture until she talked to security to get the following picture at least. The guys ahead of me in line were FCB regulars, I didn't catch their names, so hopefully they see this!

Then we met up with BigPops65 from FCB and we talked for a bit. My wife and I had our free meal, and then soon after got in line. I'm going to do some scanning now and take a few pictures of my purchases and will continue this soon!

It was a great event today for a great cause. Nice to meet you while waiting in line for Schilling, glad to see Lil' Papi made the rounds.

Great meeting you too, sorry I never asked your SN on here or I would have put that in the original post. I just got done scanning all the images of the cards and have to take a few pictures of baseballs and the ALCS Pennant to post.

So the first player in the line of autographs was Ryan Westmoreland. Ryan before getting drafted by the Sox was slated to go to Vanderbilt and I have seen him on Facebook a few times posting on some of the players who I am friends with pages. So I figured I would bring up our mutual friend Jason Esposito to him and he asked how Jason's season was. Ryan being local brought his brother along as well for the weekend. Also our strategy for the day was I'd get a card signed first, and Emily was in charge of asking for a second auto if possible and the Lil' Papi picture. Well we got both of these done, and here are the results.

Side note, as you will see in a lot of these autos, I did no prep work to any of the cards, I just used a Staedler. I had all styles of cards signed from Sterling to Metal to Chrome and more and barely any smudged and none bubbled.

I know I've seen some of your other photos of some players with this stuffed animal, but I don't think I ever got the story behind it. Why do you this?

Short version: Makes my wife happy, I hate being in pictures anyway. It's a good ice breaker and loosens players up when my wife hands him to them.

When I bring him, not gonna lie I do feel a little weird, but it's the best ice breaker with the players. They totally loosen up with him, and it really makes my wife happy.

When I add more to this thread, (Spoiler alert) Josh Reddick remembered us from last year and was showing off where he had signed him last year to Jeremy Hermida and told us that he had told him about it earlier in the day. I ended up talking for like 5 minutes with him later on about his cards and how the year had been since I had seen him last. If I was just some guy walking up asking for an autograph and a picture there is no chance he remembers me, and any of that happens.

Did you get Schilling on a ROMLB?

No one autograph per ticket for him and very strict, I had one ticket and got the ALCS Pennant signed instead. I could buy a ball.

So the next on the line of tables was Luis Exposito, who I have to admit was a LOT bigger than I expected in person. He's huge. But I couldn't find his Bowman Rookie to get signed before we went, so I had him sign a ball, he side paneled it. But I also got a few pictures.
