Please let me know what you all think. Thanks.

Edit: I took this picture of Freese during Spring Training.

My Advice...

Cut the area to the left of the arch
Make the autograph area bigger,
Enlarge the name
make the card smaller

Thanks so far. I wasn't too concerned about who the player was, I just threw this together quickly to see if I enjoyed doing customs and if they looked good. My obvious problem is how Freese is just floating on the water. Oh well, back to the drawing board, lol.

I like it, much better graphics work than I could do!

My suggestion would be do something to make the text "pop" or stand out a little more. Black border around the words, a shadow, or maybe a text box.

I don't mind the floating so much- it could be a cool theme to do players on top of nice shots of their cities.

I think it's a good start. I think you could apply a blur the bottom part so it's not so obvious that he's floating on the water. Also, I think if you give the font an outline, it'll stand out far better. A thin white outline on the red font and dark background would look pretty sharp IMO.

Here is take #2. I took some of your opinions and I think it looks real sharp now.

Looks nice, but seems like there should be something between the name and the autograph imo
maybe a cardinals logo?

I may put a cardinals logo to the left of the buildings, but then it might take away from the background shot.

Much better. I like the outlined lettering. The only other suggestion I have is to consider more of a transparent box for the signature. That way it looks more like part of the card instead of like a sticker auto.

For example, here's one I made a while back...the autograph box is still a prominent part of the design, but it isn't so blatant that it detracts from the overall look of the card. I personally prefer a white transparent box, but that's just my preference. May be fun to play around with. The "ATH" on this sample is a watermark, of course.

Really sharp looking card. I agree with the suggestions about tweaking the autograph box.

Also, when you make the card for real, please select a photo that doesn't look like a player pooping under the arch.

Search for new and interesting Fonts. I'm not very good at making customs but here is one that I think the font really makes it much much better.

I'd remove the auto box, fade a Cardinals logo into the back drop, and fade the bottom half of the card to white to make an understood autograph area. Maybe add "Authentic Signature" faintly in the faded area. Keep the player full color with no fade, add shaddow to the reverse.

Love the "DO NOT COPY" yet he stole the background picture.

I did that on my photo of David Freese. If it bothers you that much, I will delete it.

To be clear, I have no problem with you using the background picture or the "DO NOT COPY" label.

I am still struck by how much it looks like a giant David Freese is 'dropping the kids off at the pool' into the Missouri River. I hope this will be fixed when you finalize the card.

I understand where you are coming from, but in my opinion it only looks like that if you try and picture it like that. I see it as he is crouching down in between plays, while playing 3rd base. Just my opinon and everyone is entitled to theirs, including you.

What is your opinon on this card maxpaper?

I think it's great photography to be honest.
