I could care less about him being out all season and talking stats. The simple fact is your locked thread and this one are on the same level as schmidtfan. Should I feel pity for Beckett?

Of course it is on the same level, and it is WELL deserved. Schmidtfan is a total ****** and one or two threads pointing out how stupid he is are well warranted after what just happened. I could really care less about how you feel about Josh Beckett. Statistics clearly show that he is one of the best pitchers in baseball. Even with his awful year this year due to injury, he has the 18th highest WAR among starting pitchers in baseball over the last 3 years. His WAR over that time: 11.3. Howard's: 9.9...

Feed the troll for when he comes back, hopefully you feed him good stuff that he gets the boot for good. I disagree on Beckett though, Sorry. I often wonder if schmidtfan and 001873 are twin brothers or related somehow.

Sorry if you dont understand the difference between "babbling like a brook", Howard>Ruth BS compared to my facts and real opinions/thoughts with substance.....Although I really shouldnt be shocked you dont understand.

Sweet I finally made it to a signature!

I have another lesson on class.

After Rickey Henderson broke the all time steals record, he proclaimed, with Brock mere feet away from him: "Lou Brock was a great base stealer. But today I am the greatest of all time"

Congrats to the Giants anyway, rooting for Burrell and Lincy at this point.

That message was approved by... Rickey's friend and mentor, Lou Brock. And you misquoted a little...

"Lou Brock was the symbol of great base stealing. But today, I'm the greatest of all time. Thank you."

It was just the truth. It was the day that Rickey stole more bases than Lou. He gave props to his idol Ali, gave Brock a great compliment... but everybody took it out of context and blew it out of proportion. How come nobody hates Ali for say "I am the greatest of all time." Nobody hates the Beatles for saying they were bigger than Jesus. But everybody loves to hate on Rickey...

What's up with people making fun of who others collect? Really? Even for an internet forum, that's low. It pisses me off when I see that, get over yourself.

Howard had a 'bad' entire playoffs... Some would even say historicly and epicly horrible! And Arod? Not much better... But dont kid yourself in thinking that arod having a horrible post season makes what Howard did(or did not do) any better. I mean, just look at thoes numbers above! As terrible Arod did, Howard did much worse!! And thats almost impossibly horrific!

I mean, 33 ab's and 17 K's with only 1 run and zero rbi! ::facepalm::

Historically and epically horrible...

yet he batted .318 in the NLCS, and the rationale for no RBIs is that the three guys in front of him collectively batted less than .200.

i'd hate to see what you think is a HOF worthy performance.

He struck out in over 50% of his at bats! We should be talking about the Hall of Shame in this discussion. That is an epic fail, and cannot be blamed on the batters who hit before or after him in the lineup.

There is no defending Ryan Howard this offseason even with the players in front of him not being very good. Howard struck out pretty much in every important at bat in the post season. He is not to blame entirely as there is enough to pass around but Howard came up very small this postseason, as did Arod and a bunch of other hitters.

How about give some credit to the Giants Pitching staff. They were awesome in September and have yet to let up. They dominated Howard and the rest of that line up.
