My Mall Show Pick-Ups - Cubs, 90's Inserts, and Nice Box

Hit up the Charlestown Mall show in St. Charles Illinois. One of the better shows in the area outside the biggies at Rosemont. Here's how I did:

2 Cards for my Cubs PC

9 Bargain Inserts

1 Box of 2005 Donruss Champions. Boy did this box deliver! Recollection Collection Auto is #16/16, two printing plates in one pack (Bo Jackson and Al Kaline) thanks to a little rubber cement sticking them together, and 7 more jersey/bat cards (not shown, a second Orlando Hudson bat). Also had an Andruw Jones green parallel #/25 in the box.

Nice pick ups. The Champions box reminded me of one a few years ago that I opened the shop where there where 3 printing plates stuck together.

I just left there 15 min. ago. Bought 5 cards but left behind at least 10 more. Most of those guys have lost touch with reality when it comes to pricing.

Honestly, it's a lot more surprising if I find a Grace I don't have at a show anymore than if I do not. Not much new being produced. Saw about 7 Grace auto/gu total, all stuff I had. Hoping I can find something at Rosemont next weekend.

Yup. Bought 3 of those and 2 other cards from the same guy. He was the only one there that let me talk him down. Ended up getting 2 autos, 2 gu, and an insert for $40.

I bought the two Cubs cards from him. Mark was his name. Yeah, only one that would negotiate to good prices. Did you get the inscription one? That was a nice card. Congrats on your additions.

glad to see you guys were able to get some stuff at the show. It was REALLY slow for me. I spent $3, yes $3 on $.10 bowman chrome cards. I didn't see anything else worth buying sadly enough.....

Did you hear that next months show their, will be THE LAST ONE???? I talked to the promoter, said it is done.

Didn't get the #8 because I already had one. I'll post some scans later.

I heard one of the say that the mall is being sold, skrip. So they have to see if they can work a deal with the new owners. That promoter does shows all over the midwest though. Big schedule every month.
