Really a nice guy and worked out a trade for this one, the Napoli, and the 2 2006 blacks below when he really didn't have to.

So that's everything I came home with. Thanks for looking. This thread has been my attempt to recreate the National for those who couldn't go. It took about 3 days, and you had to sift through a lot of cards you really didn't care about until you saw one or two that maybe caught your eye. There was good stuff in there, but it was easy to miss it because of the sheer amount of stuff to look at. At the show, there really is something for everyone who collects. I am really picky and specific (try to be, at least) in my collecting goals, and I was able to add this many Heritage cards to my PC, but it definitely took some doing. I passed over a few tables that had these cards without noticing them, and I think I've gotten pretty adept at doing a quick scan of photobucket/showcases/groups of cards and picking out the Heritage stuff quickly. Other cards, I had to go back 2 or 3 times before I could pull the trigger or work out a trade with the dealer. Other stuff was nice, but either priced out of my range, overpriced, or just not tradeable for anything of mine (in the dealer's opinion), so there were a few that slipped away. But with the cards I came home with, I am beyond happy and this year's convention really made for some nice additions. Once again, great to meet everyone, had a great time, and hope you guys enjoyed yourselves and your pickups in Baltimore.

And I guess these two can count as "National Pick-Ups."

First, I want to say thanks to Topps for the quick turnaround time on the redemption I pulled (2009 Dual CC/Auto Pennington/Johnson /10). I think it has been a week to the day since I entered the code. I came home to a large box from Topps that I wasn't expecting. I opened it up, saw the dreaded "we won't be making that card" letter, and this:

2009 Topps Heritage Real One Dual Autographs Nelson Chittum / Justin Masterson 20/25

Not a terrible replacement at all - similar common players from a better team! At least it's a Heritage card, and one I need on top of that. The card I redeemed was supposed to be numbered to 10, so there was something else in the box - a pack of 2009 Triple Threads. I would have been happy with the auto they sent, but the pack was just like playing with house money, so even if I pulled a Gary Carter bat card, it would have been ok since I have never opened this product and it's just something different. I figured that the 3 boxes I opened at the National were the best I had ever opened, and this run of luck would have to continue, right? Besides, Topps wouldn't send out Gary Carter bat cards, right?

Triple Threads pack contained:
Carl Yaztrzemski Base 1237/1350
Adam Jones Base 0964/1350
Russell Martin Base 1255/1350
Hanley Ramirez Bronze (???) 429/525
Manny Ramirez Emerald 154/240

Not really sure of the exact value, but I have a feeling that I'll be able to turn it into a nice Heritage card somehow! Thanks again for the lightning fast turnaround, Topps!

Looooooosiana!
Nice haul.

I get the feeling I missed out on quite a few additions to my Darryl Kile collection by skipping this show. I'll be going next year though!

funny I had a dual auto from heritage that they didn't make and they sent me garbage, I called them and
asked why I didn't get anything from heritage and they said they didn't have anything from heritage
they could offer as replacment. Consider yourself lucky!

Thanks for the pics!

Now for some Heritage stuff - thankfully these will be group scans. I opened 3 boxes at the National, 2 of 2009 Update and 1 2010. Here are the better cards I pulled that I already had - there are also 1 or 2 here that I bought by themselves, including all the Pujols cards. Heritage Pujols SP's can sell pretty well, and the 2005 card is maybe one of my favorite cards of all time - classic design and a great shot.

Lincecum is a refractor /559, Teixeira is 561/561.

national2.jpg

All are SP's or variations, refractor is 110/557.

All non-chrome cards are inserts or SP's.

Cabrera Heritage refractor is gone, the rest are various promos and giveaways.

I really like what the promoters did with their give aways/promos........the Mantel, Ryan, Berra and Ripken............although not unique in design, it's simple and uncluttered.
