My New Player Collection - Shawn Thornton

So the 09/10 UD Bruins Project is drying up, with only short-printed stuff left, so I figured I'd start a mini-player collection. I say "mini" in that he's only got about 45 cards, no major ones since '03-04. Regardless, he's become one of my favorite Bruins (which unfortunately there are no Bruins cards of him). Either way, I've been picking stuff up here and there...it won't be anything "big", as everything is pretty much base and parallels (no GU, no autos).

UPDATE 5/13/10:

Two new adds today - 05-06 Norfolk Admirals and 06-07 Portland Pirates.

I wish there was an actual card of him from the 06-07 season with the Ducks, since that was the year they won The Cup! The checklist does show a postcard from that year for the Ducks, but no actual card. Suppose I'll have to settle for that if I ever see one.

Should have more updates over the next few days as I've got a handful of stuff incoming!

This actually puts me at 23/45 of all listed Thornton items from Beckett's checklist, and I've got one more thing still incoming.


@G-Money - I just realized I never answered the question about the Peterborough card...It's not from a team set, as the card is #316. I'm actually not familiar with the "Slapshot" set, but it appears (based on Beckett's checklist and a quick Google search) it's a 440 card set for the OHL. Not sure how it was distributed though. Looks like they also put out a Memorial Cup 110-card set that year also, featuring players from Kamloops, Brandon, Hull and Detroit

Woo-hoo!! The BAP Auto finally arrived. The first pack-issued Thornton auto!!
