Some people may not have seen this, so I figured I would bring this post to light and post here publicly my response to Mario from Wax Heaven insulting me and Chris Gilmore from this site.

He had pumped up his sites stats as being bigger than Beckett and how important he is to the manufactuers. I responded in the following post with my thoughts on his site.
Sorry this took this long to come out with, and I didn’t respond instantly to your post Mario, but I do have other things to do than refresh your site. I figured you're site is Wax Heaven and that is the only domain I knew for it, you are correct there. I spend most of my time discussing the hobby on my site and FreedomCardBoard.com. I do not spend every instant refreshing here, and very rarely even comment here.
I do however enjoy this hobby, and every time I read your page I feel that is not the case with you. You come across as enjoying promoting yourself, promoting what you get free, and bashing anything post 1997.
You have a site that has a dedicated readership consisting of other blogs. I have tried to be civil, but I guess it isn't worth it anymore. Mario, this hobby has passed you by. You are nothing but negative about anything that comes out anymore.
You get enjoyment out of cards that haven't been in print for 12 or 13 years. That is fine, but you can not laud over and over about how you are so influencial and the card companies have to bow down to you when you truely have no grasp over cards today. Yes the business isn't what it was in 1993, but it still is something that can be enjoyed.
I have opened packs of Topps, Donruss, Upper Deck, Just, TriStar and Razor through the last year. I enjoy collecting cards. I get a thrill out of just getting a base card of Tom Brady, David Ortiz or any of the players that I enjoy watching. You obviously have lost the love of anything current. I’m not sure of the reason why I feel good about cards and every post by you seems as if unless a company gives you something you utterly hate them. Maybe it’s the fact that I collect cards of a team that is successful and that effects my perception of it. I’ll be honest, I did take off a lot collecting wise from 1998 through 2003 when the Red Sox were not that great of a team.
Now I am not faulting you for liking cards of the past, but I am faulting you for disliking 80% of what happens today, and putting yourself over as the voice of the collector. How can you be the voice of the collector if you do not collect anything current?

No one can ever say anything about me not being someone who loves sports cards in it there is everything from a Clay Buchholz Rookie Superfractor to a 1940’s Johnny Pesky card. I’ve collected since 1987 and have been through every thing from Mattingly to McGwire to Canseco’s Rookie being “The Card” 1993 Finest Refractor madness to 96 Certified Mirrors coming out and being rarer than “The Honus” to today following players like Bryce Howard in 2009 USA being one of the highest potential rookies in recent history.
I love Razor’s cards, I love things like the Upper Deck Premiere Logo or Topps patch cards that have come out in the last year. I love owning a 1 of 1 card. I love getting a gold refractor rookie of some prospect that you always are seen bashing on here. I collect those things, I am not looking to make money when I buy a Buster Posey Bowman Chrome rookie, he was a Cape Cod League All Star and I love and collect the Cape League alumni. But do you think of people actually collecting rookies when you bash people for buying rookie cards? No you don’t, you have become so disenchanted with this hobby that posting anything that isn’t venomous towards anything post 1997 that you didn’t receive for free is rarer than a Superfractor.
The Card Podcast is an open forum. It took me a while to write this response up because I am a much better speaker than a writer. But here is my response, you always have an open invitation to be on The Card Podcast @ Superfractor.com and respond to it. In summary I think you hate sports cards post 1997, and have an insane opinion of your importance in the collecting field.
I could be totally wrong and probably will be bashed on your site, so I also am sharing this with FreedomCardBoard.com where I do feel that people still enjoy sports card collecting. I can unabashedly say that I love sport card collecting Mario, can you?
