Damn Dave, that is a beautiful card. Is the auto on card? I had finally just about caught up with adding some of the biggies on my want list, and now Topps has put out a ton of higher end Pirates cards.

as for PirateFest I am unsure yet if I will be able to attend. we are not renewing our 20 game plan due to the price increase so I will have to take off Saturday or Sunday to attend.

Aaarrrrgggghhh!!! This post just hit a nerve (not the poster, just the post).

First of all, why the heck did the Buccos get rid of the 10-game plan? As a Pittsburgher living in Baltimore, it was ideal for me!

Secondly, why the heck did they move Piratefest to the weekend before Christmas? The week before the Superbowl seems like the only logical time to have something like this, since there is no football. I can't imagine attendance will be nearly as high as usual, since a lot of people will be doing their Christmas shopping. I can only hope this means much shorter autograph lines.

End of rant. Sorry for temporarily hijacking your thread (which I always enjoy reading).

no need to be sorry I agree with everything you said. eliminating ticket plans and raising other plans prices was stupid as was moving PirateFest and the Winter Caravan to December. I have a hard time imagining attendance will be as high as it has been the past few years.

The Pirates are always full of boneheaded surprises it seems. I'm renewing my 20 game plan this year (though downgrading my seats), but only because we usually only go to 10 games anyway. I usually just credit the value of the plan to my account, and then get 2 seats for games, while still getting the savings of the 20 game plan.

As far as moving the caravan and Piratefest...seems like a stupid move, though I bet they were hoping to sell some season plans as gifts. The majority of the caravan stops aren't even public events, and judging by the players announced, I'm not too excited for the event. Unless they bring in some exciting retired players, I don't know if I feel like spending all day standing in line for Jeff Karstens and Brad Lincoln.

thanks. my main goal is to complete as many Topps team sets as I can. I also enjoy picking up cards that catch my eye of players that I am a fan of.
