Yea yea we lost i get that. I dont want to here people Botching and moaning that i am complaining over this when im not. I just like to get this off my head because i am really mad right now as im sure any of you would be if your team was 9-0 and lost.

1. Stanzi being hurt really screwed us. Mr James Vandenburg was not ready for this at all and i know for a fact he never thought he would be playing in a game this season. That is why his 1st pass was a pick.

2. I dont agree with the holding call when Brandon Wegher took it to the house. He put him on the ground yes but there was no holding.

3. 3! 3! Missed pass interference calls on the last drive. 3.

Im not as mad as i thought i would be. Im still very impressed with this football team. One of the best we have had in years. Lets just get back healthy and get em at OSU!

I've said it all along that Iowa was not worthy of being ranked as high as they were. Every week they barely beat the opposition, never dominating. They are a good team and are lucky this is a year of mediocrity. I didn't think they would lose like this though and thought that Ohio State would be the only team to beat them. There seems to be only 2 dominant teams this year, Florida and Texas and there will be a big shakeup in the rankings tomorrow.

I agree, seems like it was just a matter of time before the lost. I give them lots of credit for winning the games they won but it was going to come back and bite them eventually. I agree that Vandenberg is certainly not a QB that I would like to have out on the field at this moment but I don't think Stanzi is anything more than an average QB. Pretty low completion rate and a 1:1 TD/INT ratio. Now Iowa has to beat Ohio State to still have a shot at the Rose Bowl.

I'm intrigued to see what the rankings look like tomorrow. Iowa falls out, Penn State falls, Oregon falls, LSU falls, and Bama and Georgia Tech are in very tight games.

I do think the reason they lost is because of their backup QB but the thing is...Iowa does not have depth at that spot.A good team had depth where it counts the most. You don't really know what they are made of until they are against the ropes.Iowa was not made from the right stuff apparently.

I was pullin' for'em buddy. Just because I knew that you wanted them to win. It kinda sucks when you don't have your starting qb. Some just don't understand that when a very good team loses their starting qb that it's just all most impossible to win against a half decent team. Would Alabalma, Texas or Fla be undefeated if they lost their starter? Absolutely not. Oh well at least your team has only lost one game this year and not 3 like my team. Iowa still has a shot at a decent Bowl game. I'm really not too impressed with Texas or Fla this year and it looks like Alabama will be the team to beat. Their defense is pretty good.

alabama might be

quarterback hasn't been THAT important for Alabama, and the backups at quarterback for Alabama are big time recruits in Star Jackson and AJ McCarron

Which is why Oklahoma fell hard. I'm sure a lot of the top teams don't really have good backup QB's. Most good QB's would rather transfer to a school where they could play than sit on the bench and wait their turn. I was rooting for Oklahoma this year but knew that once Bradford went down they were done.

I am not sure about Garret Gilbert but I know Texas Tech has some pretty decent backups.Hell...it almost seems like they just alternate to suit the game.

I agree, losing the starting QB hurt Iowa as did the blown calls on the final drive. I'm not impressed w/ any team this year. Seems like there are good teams but a real lack of dominant ones.

I even if they went undefeated I didn't think they would make the BCS National Championship game but there was a chance. Now I am just glad they lost so we wouldn't have to see another Big Ten school get embarrassed in the BCS National Championship. (See Ohio State)

I live in Iowa and can say they are only 9-1 because they have taken advantage of a weak Big Ten. They should've lost to Northern Iowa(my alma mater), Michigan State, and Indiana. They will probably get killed at Ohio State, which I've been saying even before Stanzi got hurt. They were one of the worst 9-0 BCS teams of all time. They've been lucky to get this far and it was just a matter of time before their luck ran out.

Was thinking along the same lines. Now, Greg has a ton of potential, but for some reason, play calling or himself, has looked average at times.

::facepalm::
Some of the statement i just read are just idiotic.

I do agree that not many teams in college football would win with a back up qb.
