Carpenter seems to be the front-runner, CSN reports too. But who knows yet...

I know there are alot of devoted Phillies prospectors here, so maybe someone has a good read on this.

Anyway, is there ANY chance I can get my Peavy Phillies jersey finally? Maybe they can tell him about the good hunting spots not too far from town...

Buster Olney wrote an article yesterday and painted a pretty bleak picture of the Phillies chances of making a deal for anyone.

Lucky for them their offense can hide some pitching deficiencies.

I wouldn't listen to a thing that little Yankee homer says.

here is some insight from a die-hard phils fan
for the short term i see them bringing carpenter or bastardo up
once teams determine if they are going to be sellers they will then proceed to trade talks
that being said they have already called a few pitchers (halladay lee peavy oswalt among them)
in my honest opinion i think they will add 1 or two guys from marquis, penny, doug davis,or washburn.( with oswaly and peavy being long shots, and possibly bedard but it seems like hes gaining interest from many clubs.)

When will Carlos Carrasco be given a shot :?: He has pitched well (of late) in AAA, and I think he could fill in a spot in the rotation nicely.

carrascos last start was good but has not been good in minor or spring

Has last two starts in AAA:

Date OPP W L ERA SV IP H ER BB SO
May 24 DUR 0 1 2.70 0 6.2 6 2 2 8
May 29 ROC 0 0 2.57 0 7.0 6 2 2 6

Not too bad at all. I think he should be given a shot. How long has he been in AAA now, 100 IP or so :?: Might as well see what you have.
