Additionally, the Pelicans roster includes three players who will begin the year on the disabled list: Vines and Lundahl along with LHP Erik Cordier.

Cordier was just seen pitching last week. I wonder why he's starting off on the disabled list.

Cordier is RHP. Not a LHP. Stupid article...

This is a part of an article that just posted last week on their website. No mention of a injury. I'm confused..

The Braves acquired Cordier two years ago from the Kansas City Royals organization in the Tony Pena Jr. deal despite the fact the right-hander was coming off arm surgery.

Cordier, 23, didn't pitch at all in 2008, but he was impressive Tuesday in his throwing session, exhibiting a particularly nasty change-up.

"This could be the year where he really steps up," said new Pelicans pitching coach Guy Hanson, who knew Cordier from their days together in the K.C. organization and recommended the Braves take him. "This kid knows how to pitch."
