That some collectors feel that they need to get every single card of their player. There no way you'll ever get them all! Deal with it!!!
It doesn't make you less of a collector if you don't have everything and your collection is probably pretty amazing as it is. Just be happy that you've been able to collect as much as you have!
With that said, each unto his own and have fun.

If you really want to settle the eBay versus price guide debate, di the following: set up at a show with a by bunch of stuff, especially singles. Noah's Ark that **** and have 2 prices in 2 separate cards, one for the Beckett price, and one for the recent eBay sales. See if someone wants to pay $0.75 each for your mid-80s Bretts, Younts, Ryans and Ripkens, or see if they want to pay a dime or less, which is what you'd get on eBay where you'd probably have to buy in bulk.

Why wouldn't you understand this Mike? It's the simple law of supply & demand. It makes the world go around.

I am already finding it quite impossible to think about getting all the Maxx Williams Football cards out there and he hasn't even taken a snap in a regular season game yet for the Ravens.

How hard it is to get out without losing a huge portion of what you put into even when sell prices are identical. Ebay and/or consigner fees kill so much of the profit potential that I suspect there are a ton of unknown issues waiting to be discovered.

Hahaha yeah get that thought outta your head or the hobby will not be as fun. It happens to me sometimes when I'm chasing a seriously hard to find card.

There was already 1 of his cards that is pushing $100 already. It is already out of my price range. I am just going to have fun with it and get what I can get.

Kayla, make a list of the cards that catch your eye right now that maybe out of your budget. Maxx's cards are going to be higher now because he's a rookie. You'll be able to get some of the nicer ones cheaper later.

I have OCD with JJ. I'm going to ALWAYS try to get a copy of every card I he has ever had produced ...
IndyManning18 ... my wife says I'm gay for JJ (maybe that should be my bumper sticker ... on my bumper ... )

Thanks, I will do that. The expensive card is an Autographed card with his nickname MADD MAXX as hand printed on the card. It is a nice card.
