Lot of rumors going around that he retiring/quitting story.
The facts: This April he had surgery on his shoulder, He didn't show up for extended ST and refused to show up for his local rehab close to his home in Georgia. He then failed to report this fall when asked to report to the Mets complex. Currently, the Mets have lost contact with him.
Looks like a loss in the sense that the Mets drafted him with the 47th pick in 2007 (1st round supplemental pick)
Got to wonder if there were signs about his commitment to baseball that the Mets ignored.
Mets recently said he was out of the system but not retired officially.
Alos, read that he spent his his entire signing bonus of $575,000 within two weeks after signing the contract.
