::facepalm::

Didnt I hear talk just a few weeks ago that if ND could beat USC that they could walk into a BCS game?

Is Navy this good.... or is it just another lack lustre showing by the Irish?

Re: Navy 21 Notre Dame 7

Truely Pathetic.

Claussen fumbles on the 1.... stop Navy.... ND drives... INT inside the 5. ::facepalm::

Re: Navy 21 Notre Dame 7

4th and 20.... Navy drops 7 into coverage.... only 4 rush.... and they sack Claussen for a safety.

Charlie might have seen his last of Notre Dame Stadium.

I'm not a Notre Dame fan at all but if they had any sort of defense they could very easily be undefeated, or have only 1 loss. They were a bit off today but that passing attack is scary good. They have easily the top WR duo in all of college football with Golden Tate and Michael Floyd. They have a top receiving tight end in Rudolph, and like it or not Clausen is one of the top QBs in the country. They are just extremely young and have a very weak defense. If Clausen and Tate come back next year, and thats certainly not a given, Clausen will probably be the front runner for the Heisman and they will be serious national championship contenders.

Navy is under-rated nationally, but losing twice to them is VERY bad news for Mr. Weis' chance for a good bowl and for another year in South Bend.

I agree, they have a pretty good program. Some teams struggle to stop their offense.

Triple option is easy to stop if you are disciplined. It can be difficult to install that in a week. However, if you look at GT in the bowl last year, LSU had a month to work on it and simply destroyed them.

How bout Notre Dame just isn't that good. They get ranked on who they are when they are not a top 25 program. Notre Dame being to stubborn back in the day and not joining an elite conference has killed recruiting. No matter who they get in there they will have flashes but will be avg.

Great point, if a team is used to playing against it or has a great deal of time to game plan the triple option isn't so dangerous. Its very effective against teams who never see it.

THANK YOU for saying this. ND just isn't as good as advertised. It has been like this FOR YEARS! They get put into a BCS game and get blown out of the stadium. It took a bowl game against a weak Hawaii team for the to snap a long bowl losing streak and all the nd fans were back on their high horses. If they played Hawaii the previous year when Colt Brennan was there, they would have been destroyed in that game as well. I grew up very close to nd and it has been the same crap for my 29 years on this planet. Too many excuses and not enough production on the field.

Saying shat like that doesn't even make sense. But if Joe Montana was in there against Brennan than ND would blow them out of the water. :?

Notre Dame is a historically legendary NAME and they get recognition via the name (AKA Dall-ass Cowboys) in everything. Not saying that the ND football program doesn't deserve the recognition but it shouldn't be a huge shocker when they get beat. I think it's great that Navy came to South Bend and won the game. But then again I do have a tendency to pull for the underdog and I do live about an hour from Annapolis :D :D :D :D :D :D
