How can you guys say the Lakers didn't make plays? Did you see Fish drain the 3 after Howard missed the FTs, or the 3 in OT? How about the Lakers coming back from 12 down in the second half, on the road? That's called making plays to influence the outcome of the game, FYI, regardless of missed FTs. I don't care how many FTs the other team misses, you still need to make your shots to win, and in this case the Lakers made the shots.

Keep the hate coming, I love it.
No defense AT ALL on the Fisher 3's, the Magic let up in the 3rd, the Magic blew it more than the Lakers won it, they hit the shots but the Magic didn't help themselves one bit by not playing defense and missing FT's.

It's not that there's no defense, that's what happens when teams have to double Kobe. Guys get open 3s. You still have to make the shots, period end of story.
Nelson was 1 on 1 with Fisher and backed off, Kobe was in the corner 90 feet away...

Ok, so Nelson sucks defensively. How does that make Orlando a better team again? You're saying the Magic gave the Lakers the game. I'm saying the Lakers were the better team and took the game from the home team.

Again, Fisher had to make the shot. Hedo had 2 opportunities to make 3s in OT, he missed, Fish didn't, Lakers win. Not sure how this means the Lakers didn't earn the win.

I didn't say they didn't make plays, but that the Magic failed their chances to seal it with stupid mistakes, and not results of Laker play on them.

It's not Laker hate.

Me saying that I want beat Kobe in the face with a bat until his muscles are so damaged that he can't make his ridiculous "scowl" ever again is hate. Saying Gasol looks like a sickly llama is hate (although he kinda does). Saying that the Lakers would have lost had Dwight made a FT or Nelson used his head at the end or regulation, or Hedo (well you pick his moment at the end) is not.

Not giving credit to a team when they win an NBA finals game on the road after being down 12 in the 3rd quarter is hate.
You're entitled to your own opinion. If you wish to call it hate, so be it. I know why I said what I did, and that's all that matters to me.

Bill Simmons FTW

"1:14: Kobe waves his teammates away, goes one-on-five, drives into the lane and draws a block on Nelson. No free throws because Orlando isn't even in the penalty yet. Why? Because the Magic have been getting every call for four quarters. (See Lakers fans? And you thought I wouldn't mention this.) In fact, over a 16:53 stretch from the fourth quarter until the last three seconds of overtime, Orlando attempted 18 free throws and L.A. attempted zero. Zero!!!! How is that possible? That stat alone makes me wonder if Game 4 was more of a "greatest comeback" than a "greatest choke." But we're getting ahead of ourselves."

"You know what? I'd be more angry about the no-call on the elbow if the Lakers hadn't gotten screwed by calls all game. With that said ... that was like the Jordan/Russell shove in that an illegal play should have been called (and wasn't), and that play partially decided the game. Which always sucks. On the other hand, Fisher made the two biggest shots of this game and nobody on Orlando stepped up. Howard's last field goal came at the 11:12 mark of the third quarter. Orlando made one field goal in the last 6:30 of the game (including OT). Turkoglu went scoreless in the last 6:30. Lewis scored six points and missed eight of 10 shots. The free-throw disparity was so obnoxious that Orlando missed as many freebies as L.A. made. Did the Magic do anything to WIN this game? No. The Lakers fought for it and they deserved it. Period.

(Eddie from L.A. summed this up nicely: "Derek Fisher to Laker fans is what Dave Roberts is to Red Sox fans. I cannot describe him in any other way that you can understand what he means to us." Got it. Well-said.)"

Man the Lakers are dominating tonight... Orlando just seems like they don't care anymore. Nice analogy they used with De La Hoya and Pacchiao (spelling on both?).

Man was Alston pissed about being pulled for Nelson again.

I somewhat blame the court time of Nelson on the Magics chemistry disappearing. Alston was a fairly hot hand, and all of a sudden he's got to give a job back to cold Nelson. Had Alston been in (or Nelson not being rusty) in game 4, there may have been a better play on the Fisher game-tying 3.

Not to mention, the Magic had to be playing their top game with LA being so dominant this game. Alston seems to have some fire and heart, and you can tell he wants to be in there. We need that if we want to make a 4th quarter fight.

Welcome to this 22 year old's foe list. Maybe we'll see if you can post something intelligent down the road ANYWHERE to come off it.

A strange occurrence - In the NBA and NHL, last years losers took this year's title.

Also, WOW does Phil Jackson's brother look like he's his twin!
