To save a whole lot of trouble. Pac 10 should just add Utah and someone.

Big 12 should just pick up TCU to replace Nebraska. The thought of a 16 team conference is way too much, especially for football. I don't even really care for the way Big East does basketball.

Not interested in simple solutions. It's about money!

Edit: And in-state Arizona football games to sffanmike25

Good thing College Football is all about "tradition" and what's in the "student's" best interest. :?

With what's going on you'd almost think they were all insanely money hungry and complete hypocrite's when it came to things like academic standards and the BCS vs. playoff debate.

Agreed with your initial points. Especially on the use of excuses for the BCS discussion.

However, I think one thing that has changed recently in this discussion is the amount of money that each athletic department is receiving through private donations. Due to the recession, I'd bet that the majority of these departments are starting to look a lot closer at their bottom line than 5 years ago. With a new TV agreement showing a massive potential payout for these departments, they're tripping over themselves (and their previous positions on the matter) to get that money.

Sounds like the PAC-10 will add Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Colorado, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State..... with Missouri joining Nebraska in the Big 10.

It sounds that way - On the latest SportsCenter the reporter had said Texas officials met and basically insinuated the Big Xii was dead.

If that does go down - seems like it may just be the start. Wonder if the Big East would be the next to get blown up. With the bigger schools going to the ACC or SEC or something.

Not even sure how I feel about it - it's going to be so different.....guess we'll have to wait and see how it all shakes out. And in truth, I don't blame them for trying to get as much money as they can or put their universities in what they feel is a good position.....just wish they'd call it what it is.

Pitt going to the ACC would be nice!!! The ACC will be adding another quality football and basketball team to their conference. I would imagine if Pitt were to jump ship from the Big East, WVU follow suit.

PITT, Georgetown and Lousiville would be HUGE additions to the Big Ten.... or Big 35 by the time all the dust settles.

Georgetown??? Why on Earth would the Big 10 want GEORGETOWN??? Their basketball program is decent, but their football program is completely irrelevant. I don't think either of those 3 teams will get an invite to join the Big 10.

I'm probably the board's biggest fan of the Big Ten, and I love the idea of Nebraska joining. As far as Pitt, Missouri, Notre Dame, etc joining... I don't know, don't you have to cut it off somewhere? I love the new match ups that could be dreamed up, and the new rivalries that could be born from this, but when is enough teams enough? I don't mean that as a slight to Pitt, Missouri, ND, or any of the other schools that have been kicked around, but there comes a point where there just get to be too much.

Just as long as they don't let those Iowa State jizzmoppers in.

From what I have read so far, the Big 10 is not interested in adding any additional schools for the time being. I think they just wanted to get to 12 so they could have a championship game (in Indy at Lucas Oil perhaps?). That being said, I can't wait for my first trip to Lincoln to watch the Boilers!

Pitt to the Big 10 would be awesome, they could revive their rivalry with Penn State, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Pitt would fit the ACC model of good basketball. They also fit like the other schools except Clemson, FSU, and VT that they cant fill a football stadium

Pittsburgh will not join the Big Ten in my opinion. Also I think Notre Dame should join and then they should stop at 12.
