Ok. So here's the card:
755a_1.jpg

First one up on Ebay, and a sweet looking jumbo patch to boot. Probably one of the top 5 patch cards of Markakis listed ever. I have the other four, lol.

That being said, I made what I thought was reasonable offer of $100. BIN is set at $250. Looking at completed jumbo patch cards out of Ultimate, comparable players with nice patches have sold anywhere from $40 to $150, but most are in the $40-$80 range.

Now, was my $100 offer reasonable or no? What would offer for that card? Just some opinions please, as I think $100 is way above and beyond fair. Thanks for looking.

that is more than enough of an offer imo. shoot, i'd be extremely happy if that were my card and i get that much for it. the 250 is just insane.....insane in the brain....

I think it's very fair. There's a Kemp up right now for 77 BIN and the others have gone in the range you described. Of course there's the other end of the spectrum in that I had to pay 180 for my Martin as there's another crazy collector. The second one of his went for 120 as I couldn't continue a bidding war.

Good luck, the cards are better in person.

Top 5? come on

Bah, you just HAVE to bust my hump with that lot. I would of bought every single one that came up if it wasn't Brian Roberts pictured on the card, and I still have four of them. That K is by far the best of that particular card, but my K is better:

Now how much would YOU offer?

EDIT:
Daveyou - Thanks man, I thought I was nuts getting auto-declined with a $100 offer.
BigFan - That's what Im thinking also, that the seller is hoping for more via BO war (obviously), but most the guys in my league that collect Markakis won't go that high

If I was still a crazy player collector, $0.50

I would think $75 to $100 would be fair, but I have not been following his cards for about a year now. So thats just a guess

I pick one up every once and while, not as much as I did 5 years ago. If it's something I need form 77-85, I'd probably pick it up for my PC depending on condition and joint wear.

I think $100 is more than fair... Don't overpay, eventually they will realize that it was a fair offer.

Edit - BTW, that K is awesome... Didn't even see it listed, having a hard time focusing on cards between losing interest in the O's and the economy...

See, if AllStar agrees I know it was a fair price. Now dont go over offering me now

That K was snatched up within 10 mins of listing on Ebay, made the seller an offer he couldn't refuse

I wouldnt do that, especially if you have the other 4... I think $100 is overpaying considering what some of his nicer 1/1's go for.

Have any of the other letters been listed?

None of the others have been listed, this is the first one. So now we play the waiting game for the next one. Unfortunately, BIN's this high sometimes "psych out" buyers like myself into overbidding on the second one that may come along, as our perception of value is skewed because of the previous price that one was offered at.

Did that make sense?

lol... Yeah, makes sense... I am still a little upset over what I paid for a few of the 1/1 Sketch's I have of him considering how low the prices got on others.

I did pick up the Stadium Club Photo Proof 1/1 very cheap, you weren't interested?

I was, my sniper did not go off. I've come to terms with me missing 1/1's. It still drives me nuts, but I now have some really good breathing exercises I do to calm down and relax after a loss. Well at least my shrink thinks so.

Anyway, all those 1/1's I lost will come to me eventually when he gets traded to the Mets and everyone drops their O's stash.

Most of the 95+ I usually pay $1 a piece complete (loose) plus shipping, and in NM condition, with some of the rarer issues going for more. Main characters slightly more. Let me know via PM what you have, I might pick up a few if your looking to clear up room.

More importantly, are you going to put in some higher bids for my ultimate patches currently up? You really need to get on filling out that set!

Tommy'll get it, no doubt in my mind. :D
