I know this is a basketball card, but I thought this would be a more appropriate forum to post this in because the members here are a little bit older.

Here is the situation: In 2003, I bought a factory stamped LeBron James Skybox LE /99 rookie card. The card was damaged, so I sent it back to Fleer for a factory replacement; However, I received a hand numbered replacement instead of a factory stamped version. Forward to 2009: there is a seller on Ebay selling a factory stamped card LeBron James skybox /99, who is claiming, in his Ebay description, that the hand numbered versions of the Skybox Lebron /99 are Fleer auction cards. Also, I had the card graded by BGS, before Fleer had their bankruptcy auction.

For now, I have contacted the seller and asked him to remove that statement from his description(Seller still has not removed it). Also, I have a feeling his description may end up hurting the sale of my card in the future, if and when, I decide to sell.

Actually, I am not too sure if my concern should be directed towards the seller and/or Upper Deck/Fleer (or if I am just SOL). Has this ever happened to any of you guys? I would really appreciate any input/recommendations you guys can offer

I agree with murphycollector unless you try to sell it tommorow who the heck is going ot remember. Or you can try to do what all sellers try, Its an error or a 1/1

i really do not feel you have anything to be concerned about. What one sellers claims is not fact. Agreed with the previous two posters who stated they doubt anyone will ever remember

i'm not sure why you would upset with upper deck though. they did not buy fleer or have anything to do with there assets or bankruptcy. they just bought the fleer name from the company and nothing else. its just like the people that bought the computers with the images on them. they have the right to use them as they are the new owners just as UD has the right to use the fleer name now.
