Need help - key cards / sets from late 70's and 80's

Someone I know wants me to help them sell their collection. They have a huge amount of 80's and a little bit of late 70s. He says he has a bunch of complete sets and even some unopened product. Like most of you, I know mostly about prospects more current stuff.

If anyone knows about the big key cards from the 80's and late 70's, and which sets would sell best, etc., or any other information that might be useful, I'd appreciate it. I have not yet seen the cards. I also am unsure if it would be worth grading most, all or none, or just the stars. All I know of are cards like the griffey, bonds, clemens rc's.
