And age has nothing to do with it. There are people on this board of all ages. Quality of posts and overall common sense generally are the main factors I take into consideration before making my determination of a poster's place on the FCB food chain.

Who says the hobby isn't friendly to kids anymore?

Or is it the 'elite' in the hobby aren't kid-friendly...I forget now.

I enjoy all the people who just follow in and bash the OPer about not making up his own mind.

I'd rather have the Lincecum stuff because he sells better regardless of the print run.

boomets is one of the reasons I love FCB. His posts make me feel like I'm fishing with my brother's kids or something.

Boomets: This is our hobby and we all have to make choices. As a smart trader you have to balance everything out my man. If you have to second guess yourself on a trade, than odds are that it isn't a good one. Ask him to do the deal for 85-100 paypal and the lincy. 130 is too much for that card and you are giving up a multiple Cy Young winners auto.

Why do people verbally assault boomets?


Where do I start?

There is only so much I am willing to say publicly, as I believe he is very young and will probably grow out of whatever issues he seems to have. Maturity does a lot for a kid, but sometimes the in between stages of development are quite ugly and confusing. For this I give him some what of a pass.

However I do not have any patience for lying, and he is a person who has done just that. That is why he has a send first icon in his mini profile. The "joke" he pulled in my Gilmore Claus contest where he faked being a player collector in order to win a prize designated for an Evan Longoria player collector was a very telling indicator to me. Add in the other threads where he has continued such behavior and it's easy to understand the bashing.

I do think it gets to an extreme level of people simply piling on for the sake of piling on, but hey, this is a message board and sometimes that just happens. Either way this kid has a long way to go to rebuild any sort of reputation, and looking at his feedback score on FCB it looks like he is trying to do just that.

I am trying to do just that and have had 3 positives in the past few days and slowly going up,.

I was the person who allowed Zach send the 200 dollars cash for 200 paypal. He was very persistent and wanted 75 here and 50 there without me getting the money. Kept on telling him. He had to wait till the cash was in hand. Most people wouldnt let me pay for a card they were sending him and I would of said, The same honestly. You can tell he is not a well seasoned collector or online trader. I made my 1st online trade in 1998, Have made probably a thousand or more since. He needs to learn the in's and out's of it, Before people will trust or believe him. I was 110% sure he was screwing around by saying cash was coming my way. I wouldnt of been out anything if the enevelope never came or came empty. Thats why, I agreed to it.. Instead of bashing the kid, Think of when you were clueless and didnt know much about the hobby. Would you like people doing the same to you? He has his problems and I am sure more will come. If that happens they should boot him and not think twice about it.. But to sit here and slam him, Instead of giving him advice and hope he follows it. Make no sense at all honestly..

And I don't think anyone was giving you "dishonest" opinions that last time you asked this question, as opposed to what your thread title implies.

Nice post. Boomets is where alot of us started. I remember when i started collecting and also when i felt I turned the corner and started making better decisions. Luckily for me, there werent these types of places for me to show how dumb I was. Boomets needs to work on his rep and make some amends for mistakes he's made.If you dont like what he has to say, ignore it.[*]

Ok. I didn't know the history. I noticed that he gets a lot of shatty insults and was curious why. As long as he seems to be doing the right thing, maybe he can be cut a little slack? It would help everyone in the long run.
