Hey folks.

I'm starting a new project that isn't card related. We bought a 2005 Mustang with 12,000 miles on it. Bought it crashed (and since we have a body shop, we get a nice discount on parts, and have all the tools available to fix it!). It got t-boned pretty hard by a truck and needs a new drivers side door, fender, and quarter panel. Also will require some framework and a new rear end.

While I'm fixing it I'll be making several performance and body upgrades. A new paintjob is in store as well. I've totalled up the rough cost of this project and it's going to be somewhere between $9,000-$10,000 unless we run into problems. (Keep in mind the car is already paid for).

I'll be paying for most of this on my own. The good thing is the labor will be free....because it's mine  . Since I don't have rolls of $100 bills falling out of my underwear I'm going to have to sell a lot of my cards. I'll end up keeping probably 4-5% which will consist of my favorite PC stuff.

My question to you guys is:

Where to go to get the best prices for my stuff? I have several hundred autos/gu from baseball, football, and basketball. Thousands of inserts (refractors, #'d cards, etc), a ton of prospect stuff (lots of base chromes, bowman, and a two row shoe box of autos, parallels). And to top it off I have several 5,000 ct boxes of Mets cards and football commons.

I've started to group things up into players, but I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Also, any Mets collectors please PM me because I have thousands upon thousands of Mets cards. You guys will get first dibs.

(If you are into cars and want to know what upgrades I plan on making, PM me and I'll send you the parts sheet.)

Thanks guys.

Guess you wont be needing my two rare Prior's. :(
Haha man, I actually just got a 2004 Mustang that had 45,000 miles on it and I re-ended an 18 wheeler in LA traffic. It would've been fine except my airbags deployed, so no fun there, but its back with new airbags and a new front bumper.

que?

probably wasn't paying attention to the part that said "bought it crashed". At least, that would make sense.

To answer your question however, I would sell the higher end / decent selling stuff indvidually on ebay and do the inserts / parallels etc as team lots. I've had pretty good success doing that over the years.

Now whatever braves stuff you may have, I would be intrested

Did someone just say RE-ENDED.

any mustang that's capable of ending 18 wheelers on a regular basis is okay in my books.

I agree with the earlier post to put high end stuff on indivually, and team lots for the rest.

It's been a rough year for sale prices though, so if you can wait on the lots 'til close to the season, I would. Also, eBay is such a hassle for low sales anyway, it would probably be worth it to post on SportsBuy, Check out my Cards and even on the transaction boards here first. It's a little bother to set up, but most people who do are very happy with it. It's worked great for me, and the transactions go a lot smoother too.

Good luck no matter what you end up doing, and I'll take any of the cards in my sig, if you have 'em!

Thanks for the advice guys. How well do player or team lots of regular Bowman and Bowman Chrome do? I have a bunch of that stuff that I'm looking to sell.

I've written down the players/teams that some of you have requested dibs on and I'll go looking through my stuff and post what I have.

Thanks again guys!

By the way (for jeremy): I DIDN'T CRASH IT  !!!

So you would suggest waiting til at least Spring Training before I start listing stuff? And yes, ebay is a hassle for smaller stuff. I've experienced that in the past. I'll probably post my stuff in the transaction boards here and on SCF before the bay.

Thanks for the help gt!

Ok guys I've divided my Mets GU/auto and inserts into player lots.

I still have 31 autos/gu that can't really be grouped with other cards and aren't worth listing individually. Would you suggest putting it together as one big lot or a few smaller lots?

I have the same issue with inserts (numbered cards, refractors, etc)

If you've got any Josh Johnson, Dustin Nippert, Tim Melville, Jason Kubel or Francisco Liriano, I would be interested.

Good luck !!! :P

If you can wait to sell some of the mid to low-range stuff, I would. It'll take a while to get organized anyway I'd think. I've always had a lot better success in the first week of a new season, in all 4 sports. Hope that helps!
