I'm totally new to the graphic design software world but thought I would mess around and try to come up with a design for a custom cut of Satchel Paige. I have the auto, now I just need to get a design. Here is my work in progress.

I know many others will put mine to shame but I need some ideas. Lets see those cuts.

My first bit of advice is make certain that the scan of the cut is the same resolution as you are building the card or it won't lay out correctly.

A few obvious tips...
1. A standard card is 3.5" X 2.5" (yours is off standard, perhaps on purpose)
2. Do a few "trial runs" before you do your first actual cut. That way when you screw up your first couple cards (and you will), no autograph will be ruined.
3. Ruler and a great knife are incredibly important.

I'd listen to anything Mike says.

Mike,

Do you do customs for people? If so, what's the cost? I may possibly have a project I'd love to have done in the semi-near future? I've seen a lot of your work & no one does it better!

Thanks!
