Wow, it's really nice to see a company so involved with its consumers.
this.

where's Topps, huh? YEAH, NOWHERE. ;) Missing hits and damaged cards......god when does it end? Also, Topps doesn't ask for an opinion. They give you what they feel like. I got damaged cards in my first box ever from them and they gave me back different cards.

Thank you Leaf for actually caring! I promise I'll buy a high-end box of yours now.

Guys....

We have had a problem develop. Ichiro's Metal autograph cards were damnaged in shipping. Rather than put out damaged cards, we feel we must find another solution..... Thus, we have two choices:

1> reprint metal cards and have him sign on-card.... It would be a redemption that will take 60-90 days to fill....

2> Create a new Exquisite style JUMBO OVERSIZE PREMIUM GAME USED PATCH card for him to sign on card.... It would not be metal, but would be a Jumbo Oversize Premium Game Used Patch card signed on-card!!... It would be a redemption taking 30-45 days to fill...

Fire away... All opinions welcome with prizes randomly awarded to those who share opinions...BG

hehe, if you don't want the damaged cards, I'll take them :)

What about if you did some of each? Maybe do both as redemption and let redeemer choose as 1st come 1st serve basis? If you don't have the card that was on the sell sheet some people will bitch and complain. I like the idea of the patch card. So this could appeal to more customers. Maybe do a limited amount of the patch you are explaining.

I know it'd be a bit of a stretch, but if it's possible I'd personally love to see you develop your great value-adds into something more like a continuity program.

As you've got two of the greatest batters on the roster this year developing something around the pair would be pretty exciting, maybe center it around the stat that Rose and Ichiro are the only two MLB players to record 10 200 hit seasons.

Not sure how many baseball issues you'll end up having this season but I'd personally love to see a 21 card set, 10 cards for each of Ichiro's 200 hit seasons, 10 cards for Pete's and 1 combo of the two (in signed an un-signed versions w/a gold signed parallel limited to 10 instead of a patch level)

Ideally it'd be really rad to see it in 3 tiers; base insert, auto and a patch auto and allocated in some manner like this:
Ichiro patch autos for Leaf Metal
Rose patch autos for Valiant
Ichiro regular autos and Rose regular autos for your next Best of Baseball type release
Ichiro base insert, Rose base insert and the 3 tiers of the combo for your Rose issue.

With a material tier structure and with a 21 card set the production numbers should be pretty low to forego additional parallels just to keep it accessible and digestible.

Perhaps allowing some ink/signature/inscription variations for card number 10 for each (their record setter), and the parallel to the combo card just to keep it interesting. Having an Ichiro signed in Kanji and a Pete Rose signed in red as variations would be awesome. The combo card signed in gold (or silver depending on the card design) would be insane as well.

In any event, the patch auto is a heck of an addition, definitely will love to see how they turn out!

Out of curiosity and knowing full well it's a very long long-shot, any chance you might ever be able to find a way to include Michael Schumacher into any of your sets, or heck better yet, a Schumacher release along the Ali/Rose lines? Seeing a short run metal release of a set for him would be beyond amazing..

I voted B, and I'm thrilled to see it won out. I wasn't planning on buying any of this product before, but now with Oversized Auto/Patch of Ichiro, I'm definately picking some up. I can't wait to see the cards!

Metal, I would be willing to wait.

People might want to build a set and they might want to include Ichiro. The patch card will be different and distract from the set.

I agree with this one...too late, I know, but set builders always get left in the dust...

My constructive thoughts......

It is better to talk of health, progress, happiness, and success, than of the contrary things. It is better to think of the beautiful, truthful, inspiring, and ideal, than the opposite thoughts. It is better to be cheerful, confident, expectant, and enthusiastic than to indulge in destructive feelings. Knowing this, the right course is clearly open to you. Fill your daily life so full of constructive thoughts and ideals, that there will be no room for negative and depressing ideas. Confine your conversation to helpful, useful, encouraging subjects. Be generous in thought, word, act, and purpose. Make the world better for your being in it. Take a strong stand for truth and righteousness, and make every day count toward your eternal progress and happiness. - Grenville Kleiser, 1917

BG-

How did the Ichiro's get damaged? Didn't you or someone from Leaf sit with him while he signed the cards? If it was the shippers error I hope you had insurance to recoup your time

I hope it all works out, the release looks great!

I voted A and feel pretty strongly about it.

I don't like game-used cards. I don't think there's anything wrong with liking them, but they are really not for me. I don't like products like Triple Threads and feel like there's not one card in its checklist I would hang on to. But that's not why I voted A, since I have not, as of yet, purchased any Metal.

The reason I voted that way is I know there are other people, like me, who dislike patch/GU cards. They want a simple Ichiro card with an auto and that's why they bought the product. I would be disappointed that my simple Ichiro auto I was promised would be in the product (which would be in my PC) turned into a GU/auto that I'd just go flip on ebay as soon as I pulled it.

When it comes down to it card design is a big factor for me.

I'd rather have a good looking auto than an ugly patch auto, but all things being equal, the resolution is hard to argue with!

Pretty much how I feel.

Leaf, when you make a card, it's like making a promise to your customers that that is what they'll get. If I decided to buy a case of Coke and one of the cans were Pepsi with a note on it from Coke saying "Sorry, one of the cans were busted so we switched it for a Pepsi. They're the same thing anyway, so it shouldn't matter." Well.....I wouldn't like that.
Leaf, it just isn't right to switch things out as you see fit. If you develop a reputation like Topps for switching out products, than you would become untrustworthy. People might not want to buy your product seeing as if they get a redemption card and you give them something else, people won't want to buy from you. Remember, the customer is always right. Just my thoughts....
