I have been collecting baseball for 25+ years and have just recently decided to add A major RC from the other major sports.

I've already picked up a PSA 7 1979 OPC Gretzky. I'm in the market for a PSA 8 1986 Fleer Jordan. Now I just can't decide on what RC to pick up in PSA form in football.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

Depends, have a Favorite team?

Otherwise, a Joe Montana high-greade PSA would look nice I bet. No idea on PopReports though...

since you said Gretzky and Jordan, the first thought in my head would be Payton ... for what that is worth

Thanks for the input so far guys. My first thought was Montana since that was the era I grew up in (I'm 39). Gretzky and Jordan are considered the best ever in their respective sports. I'm still undecided. What card would you have to have as a football collector?

So far it's:

Payton- 3
Montana- 1
Trippi- 1
Brown- 1/2
Unitas- 1/2

I would go with the Jim Brown rookie. If you are trying to stick with your era than Payton or Montana.

A Montana would probably be a little better fit with the Gretzky and Jordan but you can't go wrong with a Payton RC.

Payton- 4.83
Montana- 2.33
Sanders- 2.33
Brown- 1.5
Rice- 1
Trippi- 1
Unitas- 1

Just curious if you made a decision. I also agree if you are talking modern cards that a Montana would be a great choice.

I honestly believe if you have the fundage ($$$$), that a nicely graded Payton RC would be the best way to go!

1. Payton
2. Montana or Rice
3. Rich Gannon Fleer RC <---- Got a 9.5 for ya for the right price! ;) LOL!

#3 was a joke by the way.
