It appears Payton was the card of choice for most collectors who responded. I was leaning towards a PSA 9 Montana. I didn't realize they could be had for roughly $280 or $100 more than a Payton PSA 8. Both of those are in my budget. Anyone know what a Payton 9 or a Montana 10 would go for? Thx

I don't know if you're still taking votes, but I'd vote for Payton.

If you can find one at auction, the Payton 9's generally end around $550.

You can't go wrong with Walter Payton or Joe Montana.

I think Montana would be the better choice and fits well into
your theme of having top position players for their sports.
Montana also has multiple championships like your other choices.
He was also spokesperson for Upper Deck just like Gretzky and Jordan.

May want to get his car, but also because he will in a few days 90. 1948 Bowman # 17 PSA8 SMR is a very reasonable price of $ 325.
