hey,
the wife just gave me the go ahead to bring 2 of my sons to spring training the week of march 20th in arizona.... thing is, I have never been, never been to arizona... we want to see the brewers and stay near that park. I do not want to book a hotel in a shady area and also would prob rent a car..... is it easy to get around out there and anyone know of any decent hotels( courtyard, embassy suites, etc)...... I just want to be safe and have a good time.... also, are there any other teams spring training near the brewers that anyone knows of..... I know I sound lost here but this is a last minute thing and want to make sure my 11 yr old and 13 yr old have an experience to remember....... a good one at that.... any help anyone here can give is greatly appreciated...... and of course, any card shops in the area would be greatly appreciated.... thanks steve

Maryvale is not an area that you want to stay around. I havent been there in a couple of years but its a beautiful facility in a bad area.

Almost all hotels will be very overpriced this time of year, and with all the extra "snowbird" spring training traffic it takes awhile to get around. But that is one of the great things about AZ spring training, is that all the parks aren't really that far away.

Most of the teams at Arizona Spring Training are close to the Brewers - Giants, A's, Dodgers, Cubs, Rangers, Mariners, Angels, and D'Backs are the ones that are coming up in my head. You WILL spend a lot of time driving though if you go to other ballparks, but I assure you that it is worth doing so. I am staying in Scottsdale, so it will not be shady at all, but it will be expensive.
