Ok, so some checked out my previous post of a custom vintage signature cut set I am doing. The cards will look like this:

Now, as I am going to be building these cards in layers, I am struggling with what type of information that the backs should have.

The options are:
- MLB career stats, year-by-year
- MLB career stat line
- a few lines of biographical text
- personal information (city from, date of birth, death, height, weight, MLB debut, etc...
- small "headshot" image from the front of the card

Looking for ideas. I have 15 of these that should be built with a week if I can decide on a back.

Thanks.

I vote these:

- MLB career stat line
- a few lines of biographical text (optional if short & sweet)
- personal information (city from, date of birth, death, height, weight, MLB debut, etc...
- small "headshot" image from the front of the card

I think the career stats line by line would be too much text.

Back looks great, though you should have someone proofread your text:

Your last sentence reads like Auker died in 1933 after striking out the Bambino.

Good luck with the rest!

+1,000,000...I don't think you can perfect it more than that man. I would buy one of those in a heartbeat if they were pack pulled (or if you wanted to work out a trade ;) )

Great work man...those are absolutely B-E-A-Utiful

Always add something signature to your card that separates it from all other custom cuts.
I imagine you are referring to a logo, or something similar that I place somewhere on the card. Hmm...possibly.

I can see how you read it that way, as it is a completely awkward sentence. In no ways was that text finalized, I was just going for basic concept/placement to show what type of "brief" information I would include.

Musial Collector and metallicalex777 I appreciate the compliments. I just want to lock down a set design so that I can build these. Once the first couple are completed, building these custom cards should be simple. I figure that the cards will be roughly 2.5mm thick...IE: a thick jersey card.

PERFECT!! Good amount of info but enough breathing room. Nice layout. That looks sharp as hell.

I just tightened it all up.

I figure I'll limit it to 3 lines of biographical text, reorganized the bio information at the top and brought the coloring down for a more consistent feel.

No, for example, my trademark was to put a picture of where the signature came from (sort of like a COA in a sense).

I like it but, would change the text a little to read:

He appeared in consecutive World Series in 1934-35, winning in 1935 with the Detroit Tigers.
He died as the last person to strike out Babe Ruth.

I was also curious to see what it would look like is you reversed the stats and text.

I think the back looks perfect. Would you be willing to build customs for others? If so, do you have a price in mind?

First off, let me just say that I am extremely appreciative of everyone's input...after looking at these layouts, everything looks the same.

So I have adjusted these taking into consideration some of the comments. (NOTE: I'm less concerned with the exact text right now as I'm more focused on the layout. I have 15+ of these to do so I really want to lock down the final design.)

Right now, I am leaning towards Sample 1. The main reason I like Sample 1 is that not all players have MLB stats (IE: the ***** League players) so I'm not going to include their stats.

Oh, and Scotty...nice Auker Playball single.
