There's quite a few of us that would really appreciate a Neil Walker resurgence.

They are probably right next to your Greg Golsons...

He is 24, but I said nothing about him being a bust. But since you mentioned it, right now, he is a bust considering he was the 11th overall pick in 2004.

I just mentioned Golson because a Philly fan hinted at a stash of Neil Walkers and since Golson was also a 1st rounder, I would imagine many (especially a Philly fan) would have a stash of both.

I like Walker, and thought he profiled as an average-above average catcher. However, his inability to draw walks limits his value at third, especially with the improvement LaRoche has made on defense this year. At best, Walker might hope to get some work in right and/or second, and make himself valuable as a utility player that can provide some pop off the bench.

As far as Clement goes, the AAA season does not end until Saturday, at which point I would expect him to be called up. With Jones and Pearce already with Pittsburgh, Clement will likely get more regular AB's in AAA than he would with the big club for the next week. There is almost no chance he will be spending any time behind the plate in the considerable future given the state of his knees and defensive deficiencies, from what I understand.

Clement has been out for about a week with a strained rib. Oh yah, and his slump presumably due to the strain has kept him out of the indianapolis lineup as well. He'll be up as soon as he is ready to play again, at first base.

And presumably, his regular days as a catcher are essentially over, so Doumit is safe, but Diaz may play some in sept.

As for Walker, yah, I had a pretty big stash of him as well................

Phillips robbed him of a hit there. Not many things are fun about watching Reds baseball these days, but Brandon Phillips' defense is definitely one of them.
