Nelson Cruz is on fire. Is this going to be his breakout year? I know it's only 2 games but 2 bombs tonight. In that line-up he could have a special year

Since he went to the open stance he's been awesome (he went to it in 08).

All they need is a 5.00 ERA from the starters and they'll more than likely make the playoffs...

And to think I gave up on him a couple of years ago. Not on him being a good player, but on picking up his 2005 SPA/SPX autos. I stopped at:

2 SPX
1 SPA
1 Ultimate
1 Blue
2 X-fractors
2 REF
8-10 chrome base.

Nice stash, but could have been a lot better.

I have a Blue and a Ref and a Spectrum RED in the BGS FCB Submission.

Pimping, but not to flip just yet.

Yes! I would have to say it's not a fluke since he dominated in AAA, and impressive after called up last year.

I would have picked up a ton of his stuff this last off season but it was hard to come by. I do have some of his best slabs though.

He really does not have a lot of rc auto

SPA 185
SPX 185
Ultimate 125

Total 2005 RC Auto 495!!! Unless I am missing something, he has less then 500 rc auto's not including parallels. that is short.

exactly. tried to get the 001/185 to go with my 001/185 SPX, but lost the bidding in 2006 or 2007. The Ultimates are lower number, but they don't get the love of SPA.

I went through the same thing year before trying to find Geovany Soto, and he had no previous chrome either.

Even parallels, 10 SPX silver, 10 SPA gold, 1 Ultimate platinum, then SPX are TOUGH graders, and all are tough autos with stickers.

When it is all said and done, that UD Update Product will have some huge cards for that year. Soto/Cruz/Zimmerman/Drew/Fielder to name a few. I bet those boxes cost a pretty penny now.

As a Rangers fan, I'm happy and hope he does great.
But I don't understand why investors/prospectors are geeked up about him.
He turns 29 years old in three months.
I think most people assume he's much younger than he is because this is his first full-time role in the Major Leagues.

He can generate a large amount of buzz/hype and won't be the first to do it as a late bloomer, and still could put up a number of monster seasons. Plus, the scarcity or RC autos will help alot.

No he will slow down soon and hit for average.

I would like to see him continue but it will not happen.
Just me 2 cents

Slow down yes, but I don't think he will fall off the wagon. I can see him having a .310 35 110 type of year. Considering that lineup, who do you pitch around when Chris Davis is batting 7th I believe. If he continues on that type of pace and then goes and do what Josh Hamilton did in the HR contest, I can see his SPA getting $250 per and his SPX getting $200 per. I hope I don't regret [I never do, I hust move on] not hitting the BIN on 3 Ultimate Signature Auto /125 of him for $100. At the time they were closing in the $20 dollar range and I had Paypal at the time. Used it on building my stash of Wilson Ramos/Luis Exposito/Gerarda Parra and some other however.
