I would probably take the Brauns on this deal.....mainly because it is Baseball season very soon, and Vikings are not playing anymore, and though a nice card, isnt one of Petersons most desirable RC AUTOs...

I would take the Brauns but I am not a Football collector so that is probably why I would take the Brauns.

Now, you're asking a Braun collector, but i would definately take the two cards.

AP is a GREAT (I mean, the best in the last 10 years), but he is only a running back. He could get hurt, the fumble problem could get worse, defenses could start gaming him better. Plus, RBs have that career path of about 4 dominant years, then they fade. So even IF he's one of the best ever, it's likely he won't be Jim Brown or Barry Sanders.

Braun has been proven, much like AP, but seems to have people thinking he'll be great for a while. His dominance arc will last longer than AP's, meaning those cards will be worth more, longer.

PS: If you want to send one of the Braun refractors my way, well...

Brauns.

But funny you ask this in the baseball section, in which all of us are going to say the Brauns....but I do think they are the better side anyways. ;)

+1, way more potential with Braun's best card. Plus, that pesky sticker on the AP leaves a lot to be desired!

Average running back duration in NFL 2.5 / 4 years barring a running back being very exceptional.

He is exceptional .... can he stay healthy long term to catch any of the records ?

E.James has alot of yards / Marshall Faulk wound down suddenly

Shaun Alexander ???????? and L.T. now hurt ????????

Braun is 10/15 years left of 30 to 50 bombs a year and 100 RBI's

I am a big baseball fan and think it is a no brainer !

One important factor to consider is that the cards you would receive are ones that you can always find on eBay, so it's important to determine if you can do better by selling the AP on eBay and buying the Braun's. If the AP is worth enough more, there's no reason to make the trade. If it's close though, it might be worth the deal.

As for the length of time AP will play, unless you plan on putting the cards away and never dealing them again, this should have little to do with your decision.

Braun has upside.

AP has downside.

AP is the most overrated back in the league. Still probably one of the top 3, but he's overrated. He fumbles, so much of his big runs are the result of the big wholes created by the o-line, and he runs very upright, taking a lot of shots that could result in an injury.

The only risk in baseball is really talent, if the guy is young and you know he's got the talent, it's rare for him not to keep playing for a decade+.

Fred Taylor was a stud running back in 1998. Eric Dickerson...

How about Edge?

'nuff said.

Braun has a much better chance of bashing his way into baseball history than another great running back that will end up like all the rest.

Guess who is in the top 10 of all-time NFL rushers?

Curtis Martin, Jerome Bettis, Eric Dickerson, Marcus Allen, and Marshall Faulk.

They are not exactly lighting up sales records are they?

Curtis Martin rookies can be found in dollar boxes.

He is the fourth leading rusher in the history of the NFL.

That is equivalent to the 4th leading home run total in baseball, which belongs to Willie Mays.

There is only one national past time.

Uno.

Baseball.

Make the trade. Thank me later.

I'd take the two On-Card Brauns over the sticker auto of AP. While the card looks nice, the pieces are event worn. UGH!! I hate event worn garbage.
