From what I understand, Joe did learn to sign his own name late in his life, and there are known examples of that.

If authentic the seller is costing themselves thousands by not having it slabbed.

Anyone find any example of his sig or his wife's sig?

I'm lazy tonight and carpel tunnel is setting in from all the contests (and hitting submit 8000 times)...

Hey Scott,

Definately signed by his wife but it is still worth a little bit.

Heres one signed by his wife, sold by Robert Edward Auctions. It sold for $406 after being estimated at $200/$300.

Nice find Brian....looks very similar to the wife's sig, but I'm no expert.

I did email the seller for a copy of the COA

:) Hey its worth a shot. If its a legit COA maybe it would be worth picking it up. Even if its his wifes signature, if you can get it for cheap its still worth a decent amount.

Just got the following email:

"Hi, I have attached a copy of the Letter of Authenticity. I am selling early inventory from the Raab Collection, as a representative. If you would like to know more about the Raab Collection, their web site (raabcollection.com) will be very helpful. If you would like to verify my status, please feel free to contact Steve or Nathan Raab.

Regards, xxxxxx"

I assume this would be signed....

The COA looks real to me

Definately not Joe. Even after he learned to sign his auto was not that smooth of stroke (more like Buck Leonard). Still a nice piece!

Just received the following from the EBAY seller-

"Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I ended the listing. There was someone else who was also questioning the authenticity. I spoke to Steve Raab. He said that he had an e-mail, as well. He wants to have another look at the autograph, but to play it safe, he said I should remove the listing...which I did. He also said that it shouldn't have been in the batch of autographs that he sent me to sell on eBay, as it is too valuable.
Thank you for your interest.
Regards, xxxxx"

I suspect this is his wife's sig.....but who knows........

I looked this up online. This is how I've seen it. The one for sale looks like his wife signed for him.

I love how he makes it sound like because of the emails he was made aware of how "valuable" it was. More like he was made aware that it was not Joe's Auto and whoever bought it wioud have made them responsable for it!

I did respond to the latest email with-

Thanks!! Is it possible that this item was signed by Joe Jackson's wife? His signatures are very, very rare.

Would love to know what you ultimately do with this piece. The cost is likely way out of my league but it is a great item.

Thanks, Scott
