Um....guys they hit a Clemente with a gemstone in it.

I don't think people are reading the sell sheets.

They are case hits. Flawless basketball base sell very well and I could see people putting this very tough set together.

Personally, I think the cards look outstanding. My big question is the autograph checklist. Are they all Gaylord Perry, Luis Apiricio, etc? Sadly the break provided the exact type of autographs I expected....

If this was strictly HOF players....

AIC should do an induction year draft.
Now that would be interesting... which year would you draft? Go for all or nothing year or go for the average year or what?

I was just glancing over the gallery for stuff I would care about other than base cards -- the autos. Seems very apparent to me to just buy HOF auto singles as I doubt I would get the value of HOF autos for the PC that I would spend on a box to get them.

Putting sapphires, emeralds, diamonds into cards - what is Panini? Lopping off collectors' manhoods?
Sounds like a woman insert to me!

I agree, but most of these subjects have very affordable on-card autos from past releases that are more attractive to me anyway.

Seeing the pictures now this set vividly reminds me of 2005 Upper Deck Hall of Fame with all the different #ing and colors---kinda disappointed. And some of the autos look on-card , while some them look like stickers---from the same player!

Thanks,
Jeff

Interesting product.

Personally I'm not a fan of shiny, modern looking cards of HOF'ers but that's a personal preference.

I would also be surprised if the Crusade set is popular. The 1998 set seems to be incredibly popular with player collectors, but I think it's much rarer for HOF guys to have many player collectors looking for modern era items. Gut feeling is that will be a flop.

I do think the die-cut Crusades look awesome.

I know. I'd love to see more creative drafts. It's almost like incorporating the "fantasy football" element into the break.

Anybody see any of this stuff being broken? Checklist is finally out (glad Doerr isn't a base-3 different base cards with all the parallels?) but barely anything is hitting eBay 24+ hours after launch

Thanks,
Jeff

release is today, so I would think we should see some busted. I already packed up a case and shipped it.
