Evening all. I just bought two new apple computers, an imac and laptop. What I didn't know when I made the purchase was that the firewire port had been upgraded to a 600 from the 400. I haven't been able to locate an adapter at any stores today so I used an ethernet cord with the migration assistant application. Once set up it had no problem migrating the information, however, now that my info has come over from the old imac I can't find it on my new computer. Does anyone know where it puts that info.... it was documents, music, pics, etc.

Thanks for the help!

Oh, I posted this in baseball so it would get more views and possibly more help that the general section does at this time.

Thanks,
Casey

Sorry I can't help with your issue, but congrats and well done! Are you new to Macs? I wouldn't use anything else!

No, thats why I feel like a dope asking, lol. I started using macs my first year of law school and love them, about 5 years now. But I've never had this issue as I typically use the firewire cable to hook up and basically drag and drop the info I want to keep. With using the migration assistant it didn't allow me to pick the destination. Now I'm lost and angry, hah!

You can call me Milton
Since they are new have you tried to call Mac customer support. They're usually very good about answering questions.

Just called before the post and they were closed for the evening. The reason I ask now instead of calling tomorrow is I have already sold the laptop and have to ship it tomorrow

Good idea. I probably should have done this when I realized I couldn't do the firewire transfer.

Thanks,
Casey
