Any feedback on these new errors discovered in a sealed UD box?

Not yet, just discovered them. I suppose many in the past tossed cards because of errors. I probably tossed several of the “ blackness” cards from 1990 because they looked unsightly, but just recently their collectibility has been getting interest.

Print defects aren't errors, otherwise no one would complain about paper loss when a glossy set is bricked, they'd just market the damaged cards as new versions.

The cards are not damaged and in probably 9.5 or 10 grade for surface and corners - once the hobbyists gain more appreciation with aesthetics the hobby will expand

I suggest all card hobbyists to improve their rather square appreciation of art by studying some abstract expressionists. In regard to the “blackness” cards, they exhibit a boring lack of ink, not like the pop style white streaks across solid bright colors that mine exhibit. Also it only takes one collector to own a particular error card, so collectibles don’t need a city of fans just one willing to purchase it

Great suggestion. I studied abstract expressionists and it totally changed my mind on these cards. You are sitting on a gold mine.

Yes you are right, random guy. These cards are worth THOUSANDS! That's what you wanted, what you neeeeeded, to hear. Now you can leave.

The 1990 Topps Blackless cards are worth something because they are not one-off printing goofs, they are a consistent printing error that happened on several sheets of cards. And on one of those cards it produced a specific effect that didn't even look like a "printing error" at first sight, the entire name was omitted. That is the only thing that brought attention to the rest of the blackless cards. But by all means, believe that every single printing error you pull is worth a ton. Go list them on eBay and see how you do, you have already received the opinion of long-time collectors so go receive the opinion of the marketplace.

Long time collectors are sometimes stuck in their ways. Remember at one time collectors didn’t even embrace “errors” or only those that someone with some “clout” deemed valuable. Then of course there’s the factor of jealous dealers and collectors that swear by their own doctrines of what’s valuable and what’s not - maybe what’s in their collection - and how dare a “regular” person suggest what will come to pass. Because cards contain art, it helps to have an eye for art. The audacity.

I think they look kind of cool all grouped together like that. But the fact is, based on prior experience, these are worth very little. If you feel that your artistic appreciation will revolutionize the card world and make these worth a lot of money, then by all means continue to believe this. You came on this board asking for "feedback" on these cards you found, you were given feedback by knowledgeable collectors, and instead of listening to the feedback you only want to argue about how you know better. eBay is open to all, both the long time collectors set in their ways and somebody who bought their first pack yesterday. Take the cards there and see what the market says.

I'm sorry people who have dealt with cards for decades had the audacity to not tell you exactly what you wanted to hear.

Feedback should be honest not sarcastic. Thanks to the forthright responses though.

This reminds me of how unappreciated that Arod buyback superfractor that popped up on here was. Sweet find OP. I would get them graded for sure.

Will getting them graded result in an inferior grade despite their corners and surface being superb?

PSA is a very knowledgeable and competent authority. I’m sure they’ll grade the cards for exactly what they are.

A member already, but have never submitted any errors per se. what do you think they will consider them? Error or defect?
