Every single one in your signature has background.

And I'm not disagreeing with you; there are plenty that don't. I'm just stating my opinion.

Sure, I also generally prefer cards with backgrounds - GOOD backgrounds.

Probably 40% (just guessing) of all cards don't have anything really going on behind the player's photo. I guess this type of aesthetic just isn't important to some people who buy certain kinds of cards.

I applaud Leaf for trying new things. Whether you're impressed or not, it is a step forward (which is something NONE of the other companies have done lately...)

Jeff,
I am sure you are a good lawyer, but clearly you know nothing about card manufacturing.
This technology has been impossible until now... It is going to change the way Metal/Chrome/Prizm (pick your word) look...
I have never made cards as visually popping as these cards are... and these are just photos (and we know Metal doesnt show off its best in photos/scans).
BG

What is the technology? Is in the colored-in etching? I think I'm speaking for at least a few people who genuinely don't understand what you are touting.

I never said I did. And really, Brian, it's an opinion. The card I'm looking at on my monitor looks no different than a 1995 Bowman's Best Refractor with some background etching. Whether the technology was available 20 years ago or not is irrelevant (I bet it was - we could put a man on the moon but not put color on a baseball card?) -- I'm sure you'll do well, and I wish you luck. I just don't see this as the next step in sports cards. That being said, I've been wrong before, I'll be wrong again.

I think it's the colored etching. A few years of Bowman's Best had different colored lines similar to the etching shown here, but not with the depth and sheen of the etching here.

A lot of potential for this etching I think.

And to think this step forward (if that's what it is) wasn't inhibited by not having a MLB license...

Slightly reminiscent of this, but with actual etching. Frankly the bowmans best card would look like a child put it together compared to what this new technology will deliver.

Is colored etching a game changer? Do people really even care what cards look like anymore, or is it the autograph on the card that matters? Bowman Chrome is the same ol' boring stuff every year, but it sells.

Did you patent this type of etching on cards?

I like them.

I couldn't help but notice how strikingly similar the box for Genetic Matrix is to Panini Prizms logo box.

BG, how do you like ripping off other manufacturer's technique's?

And I thought I had seen it all with Scott Hall signing bogus Leaf Originals that you implied that he had stolen? Looks like we have another Grifter among us.

Do people not get that they sound like complete a-holes when they spit needless venom at Brian Gray, simply for touting his product, which is his job. I mean, holy crap. Some of you sound like petulant, spoiled children throwing a pathetic temper tantrum.

Apparently you are the one that is throwing the tantrum sticking up for this grifter. By the way, suck it up buttercup, and respect you elders.

Apparently you are a petulant child who likes to come onto message boards and attempt to bully card manufacturers for no reason other than you are a petulant child. "Der der der, your design isn't an insane, re-imagining of the trading card, der der der. YOU SUCK, YOU JERK!!!"

Seriously... grow up.

Look into the mirror, knucklehead.
