Long time no see. I haven't been to a show in a long time either, but it was always nice stopping by your table to drool and talk (and I can still remember the expressions on kids faces when you gave away one of those cardboard boxes full of cards. It was priceless!!)

Joe,

I think you'll find more people with your mentality in terms of modern fakes on this site. Your findings should be much more welcome and corroborated here.

I think if the OP actually posts what is wrong with a signature instead of loudly proclaiming, with no facts to back up his claims that a signature is fake he would have been accepted more on some of the other boards he has been kicked off....i mean posting on lately. Saying a signature is fake is like howling at the moon. the OP needs to tell us why, in his opinion he thinks a signature is fake which would show the expertise the OP feels he has. So far in all his postings on the other boards, including on the PSA boards where he was booted from, he has never said point by point why he feels a particular Jeter signature is fake. All he has said is that its fake despite others asking him to eleaborate. Leads me to think that while he worked for JSA, maybe he was the one in charge of authenticating Sal Bando autographs!

I'm not here to argue or fight with anyone. I jsut want to clear the air on a few matters & then I'm done with it.

1st, I was booted off the Psa board becuase I was authenticator for JSA. Thats the only reason why. Anything else is a lie & I won't tolerate you ? my character.

2nd, I was authenticator for JSA. So when I say a auto is fake especially Jeter I know what I'm talking about. I have my own exemplar file (the same kind of file JSA & PSA/DNA use) with over 10,000+ autos from mostly 1990 to the present. I was also taught by Jim Spence about certain things to look at when examining autos. I also talk on a daily basis to highly regarded people in the hobby. I also posted a real Jeter to compare to the fakes & have explained numerous time why it wasn't authentic.

I joined this site to be invloved with people who love the hobby as much as me. I'm also here to give advice & help the novice collector on things they should look for.

Looking to trade for Jeter signed rc's & Jose A Pujols signed items.

Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome!

Best regards!

Hey Joe, I heard you shot yo woman down, shot uh down to tha ground....

My bad  it's just that when I read several post's stating: "Hey Joe" that song popped into my head.

Anyhow, it's great to have someone of your claimed expertise & background join the board's....believe me, we have MANY post's on any given day relating to fakes & forgeries (you could be a diety here)! :P

I hope you stick around (we've got some bad apple's just like anyother site, but for the most part this will be the best group of guy's & gal's you'll encounter on any online community), as I really think you'll enjoy it here!!! Take care & if you need help with anything just ask...someone else  Later bud, Dave. :D

I am not here to fight either and I am not questioning your character.

One one of the other boards I asked numerous times for you to explain further on why you felt a Jeter autograph was fake and the response was always....let me paraphrase.......Its fake and I know its fake because I worked for JSA.

Well heck I worked 7 years for the Chicago Cubs but that does not make me a major league baseball player. You simply could have explained yourself and your reasoning but you never did. I believe I am still waiting for your response on the SGC boards as well.

If you want people to take you seriously you need to do more than stand behind your credentials. You need to take the extra step and explain exactly why you feel something is not legitimate. Your expertise will be evident when you offer exact reasons why a signature is not authentic, more so than just saying that its not.

I am not rtrying to be an ass but give us more than opionions...give us facts...as I have asked for in each of the other threads in the other boards.

I explained why 3 times in different posts. Let me paraphrase I never said it is because I worked at JSA. Send me link where I said that was the reason why. I said I'm experienced in Jeter auto's & have a talent of telling the real from the fakes.

The reason why is:
1st) the seller is a notorious forger
2nd) the auto didnt look anything close to resembling a Jeter auto from any era.
3rd) i'm not arogant or a know it all but if its fake its fake. some times if your not trained to look for certain things you wont see it. but the Jeter auto's in ? were miserable forgeries.

its ok to ? things but if you cant compare the real auto to the fake & see the differences after i said the D the E the 3 HOOPS & the R were all wrong then i don't know.

my best advice for you is you should look on line for psa/dna, jsa & steiner jeter autos & learn the diff styles of autos and the eras he signed like that. if you need anymore help lmk?

thanks again board for the warm welcome.

best regards!

I don't disagree that an explanation would have gone a long way. My point in all of this is that there are more modern collectors on this forum who are very much into spotting fakes in the modern market and following the habits of certain members of eBay's infamous. He'll have a lot more in common here.

And to Joe, I think what he means is more of a forensic explanation of why the signature was no good. As in phrasing, bleeds, angular momentum, so on so forth.

I see what you are saying in regards to the more modern collector being on this sight. I do agree that the modern collectors definitly hang out here but it also seems like a lot of new collectors are here as well. Some of these collectors who are new to the hobby can easily be swayed by someone who professes to be who they are not (not saying the OP is acting this way).I guess I am overly protective of this hobby that I have been involved with for nearly 35 years and am very leary when someone proclaims knowledge but frequently will not eleborate on his thoughts. Its easy to throw credentials around but I want to see knowledge as well.

And you are right...A more forensic explaination is defintly what I was asking for...both here and on the other boards

Take care and I hope I didnt offend you Ross!

I just want to say hello to everyone. Many people know me on here so let me just say a little about myself.

I'm a huge collector of Minor League baseball cards from authentic team sets. I also collect signed rc's, Ryan Howard, Derek Jeter & all Jose A Pujols items.
I was authenticator for JSA & have a lot of knowledge in Jeter signatures & many other top prospects.
I havent done any shows in the past year except for the last big one (Fort Wash, Reading) in PA last March. If I can help anyone on here with anything lmk? I got a lot of experience in the hobby & a lot of connections.

I'm always looking to trade for signed Jeter rc's & Jose A Pujols signed items.

Best regards,
Joe

Hey Joe. Welcome to the boards. Where in NJ are you from? I usually do some of the shows, but I haven't in awhile because of college, work, etc. Take care man,

John

I'm a passionate person, but it certainly takes a lot more to offend me than a differing opinion and or the request of an explanation. You were right, I could have been more clear in my meaning.
