I am a Rams fan and I may be bias when I say this, but I'm not so sure people should say that the 49ers are a lock for this division. It's still only week 8 and the Rams looked very good last week and without Bradford. My point here is that anything can really happen in this division because the Cardinals/Seahawks really aren't good and I feel like the Rams underachieved up until last week because of so many injuries they have had. Just a thought, but here are the remaining schedules

RAMS:

Seattle 2x
Cardinals 2x
49ers 2x
Steelers
Browns
Bengals

49ERS:

Rams 2x
Cardinals 2x
Seattle
Washington
Giants
Baltimore
Steelers

The 9ers have a much more difficult schedule than the Rams if you ask me, and yes, it would require the 9ers to lose to pretty much every non division team and the Rams twice, but does anyone else agree that this is no runaway?

I wouldn't say the 49ers have a "much" more difficult remaining docket. They are both pretty similar. I don't know if the 49ers are for real or not, but they are going to make the playoff with a home game, simply because that division sucks so bad.

I'd root for the Rams, but they can't catch up.

Yeah, but that's like me, at 5'6", saying I'm "head and shoulders" above the Roloff family. It's true, but lets have some context please.

Im not too sold on their defense yet, yes they look good, but can they keep it up until week 17... and the offense, you have to wonder when Alex Smith will collapse

If Alex Smith hasn't collapsed yet, I don't think he will. He is being coached by a former QB who understands how to coach and mentor Alex. I wouldn't proclaim the Niners as winners of the NFC West, but I can't see them losing the rest of their games this year.

The Rams??

The 49ers will win the division without question. I'll proclaim them NFC West Champions, they have more wins then the rest of the division combined.

Fair enough. Let's just put it this way. Arizona's O-Line is going to get Kolb killed by the end of the season. Seattle's offense is putrid. St. Louis has struggled to score points as well. San Fran's offense isn't setting the world on fire by any means, but Gore has been a beast and Alex Smith isn't running for his life on passing plays any more. It's their defense and Alex Smith's decision making so far this year that has allowed them to win games this year.

Dilfer tonite said a Packers' scout told him they were most concerned with the Niners, mostly 'cuz of their Defense... :o

And though often overlooked their Special Teams are MUCH better too.

Niners will probably be the only team over .500 in the division...

Well, I'm not necessarily saying they HAVE to lose every game.... they'll have to lose a lot but if they ever finish 3-6, by winning their 3 games against the Seahawks and the 2 against Arizona, then the Rams would have to complete a miracle and go 8-1 which I am assuming they lose to the Steelers. Yes it would take a miracle, but if the way they played against the Saints last week is a sign for whats to come the rest of this season, then yes, it is certainly possible

Probably? I am pretty sure the 49ers will finish over .500.

Also Alex Smith is never going to be the #1 overall pick they drafted him to be but I think with Harbaugh's coaching he will be able to do enough to help them win games.

Funny I feel the same way about Bradford.

I'm not trying to be rude, but this is slightly delusional.

I understand you never want to count a team out, but Seattle's defense has been highly underrated this season (is St. Louis' offense doesn't sharpen up, sans the NO game, it will not be able to handle Seattle's defense) and San Fran has one of the best defense's in the NFC.

I don't really trust any offense in that division though.

First off, there is no way the 49ers are going to lose the west. secondly, and I will admit I also am biased but I don't think St. Louis is a better team than Seattle. Last weekend Jackson had his best game ever, unfortunately it was overshadowed by the fact that Sydney Rice dropped three passes and the running game is absolutely anemic. Our defense played the worst name in a few weeks. I highly doubt St. Louis finishes with a better record than Seattle, if they do I'm prepared to eat my words.

rams are easily a better team than the hawks. i've been a hawks fan my entire life. this is back to early to mid 90's ineptitude out of this team. the only good thing about how horrible they'll be the next couple seasons is that pete carroll will be run out of town soon enough and a good coach can be brought in.
