Gil Brandt said yesterday in his blog that it would be a good trade for both teams. I would have to disagree, Carson Palmer in his current state is 31 years old and injury prone. If you look at the Seattle Seahawks and the division there playing in it doesn't seem likely that they're going to be able to beat out San Francisco and win the West. If Seattle made that trade today, it would take Palmer at least two weeks to get in sync with the rest of the offense. Not to mention, Pete Carroll has said time and time again Jackson is his quarterback. At this point in the season, it doesn't make any sense for him to make this trade. Why couldn't it have been made at the beginning of the season? Realistically, Carson Palmer has between three and five good seasons left (and when I say good I don't mean Pro Bowl caliber Super Bowl winning good I mean above-average starter in the NFL) and that is if he doesn't get re-injured. To get Carson Palmer they would have to give up Doug Baldwin, a player who has been Seattle's best offense player this year. Let's not forget he's an undrafted rookie. Seattle has found their next great player and it is Baldwin. Not only would they have to give up Mr. Baldwin they would also have to give up a conditional pick, probably a one or two. Overall, as a West Coast sports fan I would be severely disappointed if the Seahawks made this trade, if I was Cincinnati on the other hand I would do it in a heartbeat, 11 times out of 10, once every day the week and twice on Sunday (with no takebacks!).
