They seriously should have checked to see if he was high and on a munchie run. WTF was Golden Tate thinking?

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... -incident/

Earlier today, we told you to keep your eyes peeled for an unusual story.

And here it is.

The folks at TMZ report that Seahawks receiver Golden Tate was apprehended early Saturday inside a Top Pot donut shop in Bellevue, Washington. The problem? The donut store wasn't open for business at the time.

Per the report, Tate received a "trespass warning," but he wasn't arrested.

As we hear it, Tate entered the store with another person and feasted on donuts. We're told that the folks at Top Pot opted not to press charges, which helped Tate avoid arrest.

Meanwhile, Tate boasted in April that he'd never get in any trouble.

"Being at Notre Dame, you're used to being under the microscope, so I'm used to having all eyes on me," Tate told 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh. "Anything I do, anywhere I go. My mother and my father taught me what's right and what's wrong, so I don't think I have a problem making any tough decisions."

Apparently, he didn't have to make any "tough decisions" between glazed and cream-filled. He simply ate both.

How do people even think this kind of crap is a good idea? Maybe if you're a pro athlete you simply think that you can do anything without getting in trouble. I wonder if there was any 'informal' dealing with the owners of the doughnut shop afterward?

I'm going to print out a custom card on cardboard from a doughnut box and see if he'll sign for me.

Yea... ::facepalm:: Talk about general statements.

Since Tate went to ND, and the have higher academic requirements, I'm guessing he's not stupid. ;) Poor decision making does not mean a lack of intelligence.

WOW.

"Top pot sold 4 times as many donuts as usual today! Hmmmm," the Seahawks receiver noted on his Twitter page late Thursday night.

Not only does the guy get off without any charges, but he's being so smug about it and Top Pot will probably use him as a spokesman down the road. How f***ing ridiculous is that!? If I went into the local bakery and ate one doughnut without paying for it, I'd be sitting in jail right now awaiting arraignment.

Way to teach these young millionaires how to behave. Don't be surprised 25 years from now when he's breaking into somebody's house for prescription medication after he has blown through his playing days money, or when he's busting into a house to retrieve "his" sports memorabilia.

"When I got here, it was one of the first things I had," Tate said. "I heard about it. They're irresistible. It was kind of a foolish mistake that won't happen again. If you ever want some maple bars, that's the place to go."

Lendale White agrees.
