[quote="Card Magnet":30u4qdg7]Tim Rattay. The future AFL 2009 MVP...Hey, it can happen!
He played like half of a good game for the niners but thats about all he did
Rattay is the only 7th-round or undrafted quarterback since 1995 (out of a pool of 30 such players) to pass for more than 400 yards in a game. Tom Brady, who also accomplished this feat, was a 6th round pick in 2000, [10]

Rattay broke the San Francisco team record for the most completions in a game, breaking Joe Montana's record of 37.[citation needed]

Rattay is the only quarterback in NFL history who has thrown 3 consecutive passes all going for touchdowns, as he did for the 2007 Arizona Carindals. [11]

He was responsible for the biggest comeback in Buccaneers history when he led the team to four touchdowns, throwing for 3 in the 4th quarter and sending the game against the NFC Champions Chicago Bears into overtime.

This all may be true but..........where is he now?[/quote:30u4qdg7]

Last time I check the Las Vegas Locomotives are not an NFL Team and if you knew he was in the UFL why would you still ask if he was in the NFL?

You asked where he was now. Card Magnet said he is playing for Las Vegas in the UFL and then you said you knew that but you still asked if he was in the NFL. If you knew he was in the UFL why did you still ask if he was in the NFL?!

Maybe I missed the "joke".

I am going with Bears. The skilled position player cards are going to really blow up this year:

Earl Bennett
Greg Olsen
Jay Cutler
Matt Forte

Tough first game in green bay, but they will still be able to put up some numbers in game one.

Thoughts?

Earl Bennett isn't good. Olsen is a TE and even Gates' cards never got that high when he had the greatest TE season ever. Cutler and Forte are already pretty high, need a Super Bowl to reach decent profit levels.

Everyone loves Josh Morgan & Kevin Smith. I don't get it.

For Morgan to jump, he'll need big numbers and wins... I like his talent, but Shaun Hill is not going to put up huge numbers and the niners aren't going to win that many games.

As for Kevin Smith, who seemingly everyone loves this year for some reason. In the NFL, you need the pass to open up the run and the Lions are lead by a rookie QB and are, in general, not very good... Doesn't look good for the running game.

I don't get it either. I really doubt he does anything worthwhile. People are all happy because he will be getting all the carries, but on the Lions that doesn't mean too much. Especially when you are down 20+ points every game and abandon the run.

I'm not invested in Kevin Smith (or anyone for that matter), but I think Smith is going to be very similar to Forte in that he'll get many chances to catch the ball and make plays. Someone above mentioned about the Lions having a rookie QB in Stafford. I believe that this will benefit Smith as he'll act a bit as a safety net. But then again I could be totally wrong as well :).

Sadly, unless he rushes for 2,000 he will go un-unoticed on that team :(

Nice points by everyone. The funny thing is I don't think he's a bad RB. Funny how the actual talent of the player means very little in some cases.

Right, I think he is actually a really good back, just not good enough to overcome the situation. Maybe in a few years...

To me football is harder to predict than other sports on who will have breakout years because too much depends on other guys on the team. Every offensive position depends on the rest of the team. Plus the fact that season changing injuries happen every week somewhere in the league. Stick Kevin Smith on the Vikings and I bet he has a top 5 season.
