How are you surprised about the Vikings going 3-0 with the people they have?

To all the Favre haters thinking he was done and Vikes getting him would be a bad move. Love it the Vikes are 3-0.

The Vikings really weren't a surprise to me; Favre or not they have the best running back in the league.

Favre's play has surprised me though..

I think hands-down the biggest shocker for me is the Bengals play thus far, I expected a "Bungles" type start to a "Bungles" type season for them...Needless to say C.Benson has ran with the heart & toughness that I'm not sure he even knew he had & Carson Palmer is showing the spark, accuracy, & decision-making skills from his prime! The Bengals defense has looked pretty formidable, thus far they are not resembling in the least the mess that thier defense once was, not even a year ago!!!

The Jets are shocker #2 as thier defense has been as dominating as anyother in the league & thier rookie QB has shown great poise for a 1st year QB starting in the NFL! I knew they had talent but never imagined this kind of 3-0 start or this level of production from thier "D".

The 3rd shocker is more of an individual player let-down, it concerns L.Tomlinson & has lackluster performance (as well as his injury keeping him out 2 weeks straight, which hasn't happenned before). I personally don't think he will ever be what he once was & that last year we may have witnessed the last year of a GREAT runningback in LDT! :? He's one of my most favorite player's off all-time, but as ALL runningback's past & present, they all eventually wear out & run-down leaving behind a shell of thier former selves! I hope we get to witness at least 1 or 2 more game's with LDT performing at a high level (even if he can only do so against a scrubbish defense), as he was one of the most entertaining to watch once he got going! :D

I am not shocked at all about the Vikings production (& besides that beautiful last second TD to Greg Lewis, what has Brett Favre done that has been so jaw-dropping & worthy of all the fuss?). I knew they would be a force, with or without B.Favre at the helm (in all honesty I think S.Rosenfels could have been the starter & the Vikings would be 3-0 right now). Now I'm not bashing on Favre as for his age it is something special that he's even able to start in the NFL week in & week out, but I just do not buy the "hype" that is being created by this 1 play he completed to G.Lewis (sure it was an extremely awesome & almost miraculous play, but it was 1 play & Favre has done little more than properly manage the game's as a QB for the Vikings this season)!

One more thing I am not "shocked" about (as it seems many other's in this thread are) is the Titans 0-3 start. The Titans haven't had anything more than a little bit above average QB since McNair left! This has finally caught up to them & I saw this coming a ways off (if anything I say the Titans performance last year's was "shocking")...Thier defense is still going to make plays & now they have one of the premier RB's in the NFL (in Chris Johnson), but until they find a solution for thier QB woes I do not see them overcoming thier handicap of equaling up to being just an overall "average" football team! Thier defense will get tired from being on the field too much & thier offense is too 1-dimensional to allow C.Johnson to continue to dominate with the run (sooner than later defense's will completely focus on the run, when this occur's the Titans will have no answer to the problem)!

Anyhow, just a couple of "shocker's" & "not so shocked" happenning's thus far in the NFL! :D

Am I the only one still not buying into the whole "Favre has risen" crap? He jacked a ball up at the end of a game, and the receiver made an overthrown ball into a great catch. His first two performances were less than admirable, only racking up 110 and 155 yards. 1 pick to 5 TDs is a great start, but we'll see how things progress.

Thing is, people aren't expecting him to put up gaudy numbers. The Vikes are a very, very good team without him. He has done a pretty good job thus far, but he's not here to pass for 300 yards a game. They are a run-first team and have (arguably) the best running back in the league, so we don't need him to work wonders. I don't think anyone can deny that he brings much more to the table than Gus did or Tavaris has shown thus far. I love Favre's fastball passes compared to Gus' lofty softies and Tavaris' inaccuracy. We'll see what the rest of the season brings, but so far he's been better than what we had.

One last thing, Favre is a gamer. While it wasn't the smartest move due to injury risk, Brett really earned some respect on this play:

A QB throwing a block on Patrick Willis?!

I will admit the guy is a gamer of course. He's got one hell of a heart. Perhaps last years collapse (apparently from injury) and the offseason crap is still lingering with me. We'll see though.
