Nicest: Huston Street & Kurt Suzuki

Jerk: Although I've never met him, I've heard way too many horror stories about Reggie Jackson being an a-hole to fans.

I'd feel pretty confident in saying that any former Vanderbilt player is very nice and accommodating to fans, though some are a bit shy.

David Price has always been a nice, open guy who will normally sign (especially for kids). Ditto for Pedro, Mike Baxter, Sonny Gray and Jason Esposito.

Nicest: for me would have to be J.R. Towles and David Freese

I met Towles in his rookie ST when he was with the Astros. Great guy that took the time to talk with my friend and I and even posed for pictures. Was sad to not see him fulfill his potential, but I am still rooting for him. I met Freese here in Atlanta during the 2012 season when the Cardinals came to town. He stopped and talked with fans up and down the third base line. Was signing multiples for every person and was inscribing 2011 WS MVP whenever asked. Have also heard plenty of great stories about him from my family in St. Louis.

Worst: Have never met him, but Rickey Henderson

Heard so many stories about how he never signs ip if you happen to run into him. "Unrivaled arrogance" were the exact words used.
And for kicks Jesus Guzman. Tried to get him to sign something for me when at a Braves game. Was polite and everything using Mr. ___ (I was 13, although manners are still useful today), but he just gave me the nastiest stink eye I have ever seen.

The guy calling Rios a bum is well known in the Toronto area autograph hounding community as a first class a-hole. Pulls this kind of stuff all the time when a player turns him down. He hides in the crowd and just keeps antagonizing Rios. He sees the reaction he can get so he keeps taunting him from a distance. Childish.

That being said, Rios is supposed to be a "professional" and should have taken the high road and ignored the guy from the get-go.

To the OP, I remember reading a story about what a nice signer Shawn Green was when he was playing. Apparently before a game he was signing and a guy had a new paint pen that he hadn't primed. When Green tried to sign it didn't work. He then had to go into the clubhouse to prepare for the game. After the game he was again signing and he sought out the paint pen guy and made sure he signed his item.

Nicest Hands Down was Harmon Killebrew, I went to the Twins Autograph Party to have him sign a picture, It was getting close to being to the end of his signing time and they were telling people that most of us wouldn't get through his line and to not try to. I figured might as well try. there was about 5 minutes left in his signing time and the security for his area told me and about 20 others sorry but Mr. Killebrews time is up and we would not be making it to the front in time. I said ok that's fine and was getting ready to leave when Harmon told the security guy that he was in charge of when he would be done signing and since we had been waiting an awfully long time he would sign for the rest of us. there was a little kid and his dad infront of me and when they got up to Harmon asked the boy if he knew who he was and the kid responded wit my dad calls you Killer. the dad who by this time was super embarrassed and Killebrew let out a big laugh and he told the kid to come around the table and he held the kid and was taking with him about the picture he was signing for them, he told him he remembers the day that it was taken and such. this interaction went on for about 10 minutes. all the while this security guy was standing there just pissed because he was still signing. when I made it up to the front I thank Killebrew for taking the extra time to sign for me and he thanked me for waiting in the heat for him! he then seen I had a picture of his 500th home run and got a smile on his face and told me about the at bat, he said it was amazing. the time I received my autograph from him was about 35 minutes after his singing time. Rudest would have to Pete Rose, I asked him if he would inscribe my baseball as Charlie Hustle and he rolled his eyes looked at me and stated "I don't F***ing sign that!" I was so shocked but I kinda laughed at it, I didn't know he didn't sign that I had even asked before getting my auto ticket for the show and the promoter said that Pete was signing one free inscription.

Nicest baseball players off the top of my head: McGwire, Gaetti, Joba, Mariano, and Mickey Hatcher. Willie Wilson gave me the finger once when I asked for an autograph. I was 10 years old, and he was running in from shagging flies. Luckily, even at that age, I had a warped sense of humor, and laughed myself to tears after getting the finger.

Chris Capuano is a helluva guy. Robin Yount has always been incredibly humble and down to earth as well

And thank you for wasting my time during my work day to investigate the STUPIDEST of reported posts I have seen lately. You're both idiots.

Ozzie Guillen is sooooooo nice. He shot the bull about his saltwater fish tanks for 45 minutes on this cruise I was on with a girl that I just met at a CVS where I was getting ointment for burns I sustained while digging cards out of a flaming car in the desert.

Seems a little far fetched but it was the best day of my life, hands down.

Seems a little far fetched but it was the best day of my life, freakishly small hands down.

Fixed that for you :)
