If you say so. If he's as good as advertised, there will be a nice amount of money to be made. Does chrome put a ceiling on Elites? Sure, but i'm ok doubling or tripling my inveestment.

When I saw this thread, the title was cut off so all I saw was "Nick Castellanos Promoted to" and with the way Detroit handles their business with their top prospects, I half expected the full title to say "Nick Castellanos Promoted to the Tigers, starting at 3B Tuesday"

Glad that's not the case. It's about time on the promotion, though. When a guy is hitting over .400 after 40-50 games in single-A, it's time to see what he can do at the next level. Now if only he could develop a little more pop...

Even if he doesnt reach those levels, the buy in on elite is lower and when the chrome auto releases, there is a ceiling on the elites but when you're talking about the difference in release of two years, it wont be the same impact. A 2010 Elite will hold its value against a 2012 chrome.

I think some enjoy the "rain on the parade" effect of saying it even though its been disproven time and time again.

Chrome auto's hurt the value of elites, but when prospects are hot...everything sells (at a nice profit). In all cases.
