Bryan Petersen got called up by the Florida Marlins, effective today!!

Great guy and couldn't be happier for him!! Too bad the Marlins aren't in Cincy until middle of August.

The 24-year-old Petersen, who got the nickname "Condor" this spring, got the second-most Grapefruit League at-bats on the team (67) and hit .284.

"It just gives us a little flexibility off the bench," Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "He's a left-handed-hitting outfielder. Maybe we can do something to get the other guys going. ... And he can play all three positions in the outfield."

He got his first Major League hit tonight and got driven in to put the Marlins up 3-2 and they won by the final of 4-2.

Definitely a memorable night for him and his family!!

Hopefully someone can spark the lineup w/Hanley. Cogger isn't doing anything. Carroll is a nice platoon type player.
