I have personally opened 18 boxes of this stuff and seen another 18 opened. The breaks are brutal and there is so little value it is ridiculous! In 3 cases there was not one John Wall Auto pulled. Only 1 Cousins auto pulled. I pulled 9 Andy Routins! With a total of 16 Routins! The best "case hit" was a Greg Monroe/Austin Daye auto #/10. This junk isn't worth half of the SRP!! I lost my ass! I suggest everyone stay far away from this crap!

Edit: And what happened to the on-card rookie auto that everyone liked? This is just more run-of-the-mill manufactured patch garbage.

there were no on-card nice rc autos like last year, just those crap fake patches. I dont know who thought that was a good idea. ::facepalm:: There are only 2-4 rookies with potential in this class.

You can usually tell after 5 boxes if the product is trash or good.... why rip 13 more?

Pre-bought the cases. Figured eventually something would come out. I guess win some lose some.

It doesn't really help that this years rookie class blows so far. John Wall is about the only rookie even worth pulling.

Demarcus Cousins is also very good but it is still a weak draft class

I'd say Cousins is pretty decent, but nothing special at this point. Especially considering he's on a very weak Kings team. He has a lot of upside and raw talent though. I think this draft class will probably go down as one of the worst in the last 10-15 years when all is said and done. Unless a few guys drastically step up in the next few seasons. I know it's still early to start making such claims but no one has really stood out at all from this class.

I'm not counting Blake Griffin because he wasn't in the 2010 draft class.

I bought one box and pulled this:

scan0148.jpg

Each case was suppose to have either a dual auto, kobe, wall, or Shaq auto, did you not even seee a kobe or Shaq?

Each box has one lottery pick auto, i mean you have to expect many autos to be redundant, If you were just trying to pull John wall why didnt you just buy 20 John Wall autos? They sell for less than a box price

3 Dual autos. Jennings/Sanders #/49, Daye/Monroe #/10, & Rondo/Bradley #/49. Thats it! I thought there would be at least one Kobe. No such luck!

Yeah they should have had a lot more superstar autos, the draft class was horrible. They also should have inserted 1/1 or possible /10 REAL jumbo patch auto rcs, instead of all manufactured

the manufactured patch design is terrible....just terrible...

you think contenders, football does it right. why mess with it? could've been the same design as football and it'd be a winner....

i totally agree with the op. i've seen them and i'd give a 0 for poor design. fail...

You may have spoke too soon.....I just saw a sell sheet for "Gold Standard".

It looks like a hodge-podge of 3 or 4 different products. Including one of the big case hits.....which just look like the R&S Manufactured patch autos - only here there is a "Gold NBA Logo".

I guess the "draw" there's a 14k Gold 1/1 card set.....and some of the inserts have a piece of Gold in them.
Oh yeah.....it's also has a $200 a pack msrp.

Sooooo true.

i love kyrie irving and i thought he'd be a great sleeper if he went pro. i like buying duke players, too. turns out this draft is so bad Cleveland is looking at him for #1.

I wasn't even sure he'd go pro but now he'd be stupid to stay.

Same goes for my UGA guys. They'll go so high in this crappy draft they'd be dumb to stay. Frustrating.

Our shop had a six box case which yielded one Wall redemption and no dual autos. The next best "patch" auto was a Landry Fields SP but overall you can't let the draft class drag the product down so much. I haven't liked a single manufactured card but this is one that doesn't look that bad.

Still, Panini should have at least gone on-card/sticker like Contenders football. Or added a fifth hit like Contenders FB.

I quit buying Panini products after busting a case of 2010 Elite Basketball. After having a horrific break of Rookies & Stars I gave it one more chance, and got bombed again. Neither case had the case "hit" auto, and was short a few auto's as well. I spent over six months with customer service trying to straighten out this mess and still a year later it is not resolved.

I refuse to purchase any Panini wax period anymore. I'm out of basketball collecting while Panini is excusive. Panini Football Baseball also!

It's hard to get a good ROI on any basketball in the last two years(well Griffin is the exception). Without UD you can't pull a Jordan or James, best you can probably do is Kobe & Wall. This years weak draft class doesn't help either.

Really: Irving, Kemba, Jimmer, Nolan Smith, Brandon Knight, Jujuan Johnson? Those names are already better than this years only few stars Cousins, wall, favors
