Apparently Lebrick thinks racism played a factor in the media backlash to "the decision" (and is a factor in everything) and spoke his mind about it in an interview a few days ago. His manager chimed in with the same thoughts.. BTW, neither bothered to substantiate anything they said with actual examples of what they were talking about.

When asked about his comments yesterday, he stood his ground.
Dude seriously needs to consider a change in management and a new PR team, because this one isn't working IMO.

The 2 most worst things a super star like Lebron can do is go against what his PR team tells him and having a bad PR team.

Lebron needs real pros to bolster his image in a professional way. He cant speak out with his feelings and get caught off guard. His marketing team does a great job. They still to this day pawn off that the "Decision" was a way to help raise money for the kids foundation. Sure, a charity that claims fame with it!! Great marketing because some actually thought it was to benefit the kids!! It worked!!

I think it's a dumb comment, but like most other claims of race playing a factor in things, I choose to just ignore the statements rather than help the media make a big deal of something said by a high school educated millionaire. Most things they say are stupid and unfounded, and this is no different.

And the fact that he is an arrogant egotistical clown has nothing to do with it!

Not going to say race plays no role.......I don't know what everyone else is thinking, so sadly I'm sure there are some where it does matter, but I really think it is a small amount.

Hearing the comments on this, here are the couple things that aggravated me:

The criticism regarding how Cleveland fans reacted and blanketing that with racism.
Do these people not realize people care A LOT about sports in this country, really almost in an unhealthy way in title-starved Cleveland when you'd see stories and it seemed the cities self-worth and hopes were tied to Lebron and the Cavs. It was that passion that caused many to idolize him, that led them to spent a fortune on tix and jersey's........so is it really a surprise they were pissed when their "king" left?
Probably wouldn't be surprised if someone burnt some stuff and was upset if they had been married for years. Come home to find their wife with another man. She doesn't give an explanation.....but they can tell the new guy can provide her whatever she wants and is far more attractive. Right or wrong, it seemed quite a few Cavs took it that hard......which was simply having your heart broken, not racism.

The other thing it seems people have forgot (or at least never mention):
Lebron toyed with and pissed off the major cities and media markets in this country.
Chicago, New York, to some extent LA......maybe even some other teams - they all had hopes of landing him, or at least Wade or Bosh. So beyond "racism" - I'm pretty sure when you disappoint cities with millions of people - that could result in a drop of your "Q" rating.
