Re: Official Bay Area, CALI Show Thread, Next: San Jose Feb. 20

Just got back - dropped about $250 on singles and $250 on a box of sterling. Pretty quiet at the show - Montana, YA Tittle and Marv Levy were signing. Some good deals to be had at a couple of tables - picked up a couple of Lars chrome parallels for pretty cheap. I'll get scans up Sunday night when I am back at school. Probably not worth more than an hours drive if you're not going to get any autographs from the big names. There weren't a whole lot of dealers as far as cards go. Under an hour there is still some good stuff to grab.

Yes to the first question.

There were three or four dealers with prospects - only one with any real selection - guy named Rob I believe which is where I spent my $.

I know Rob, he must be the main singles guy there- he rarely ever sets up but he cracks a TON of stuff. Thanks for the update- did Rob have any high end or rare chrome parallels?

I was there. Are you local? Show calendar says there will be 90 tables at Serramonte.

O really, yea I wasn't really into collecting at the time. I live in Danville and darocker does as well, we are probably going to go to the serramonte show

Crazy I live in Danville too. 3 FCB members in our small town

Yeah he had a number of really nice cards - ones that come to mind include Maybin 06 Red Ref BGS 9.5 and a hoard of high end blue refs.

Another guy had two Dominguez 07 BDP Red Ref BGS 9.5s. Also saw a Price Orange BDP 9.0.

Re: Official Bay Area, CALI Show Thread, Next: San Jose Feb. 20

I went today for an hour or so right before closing. I only bought from one table, and I assume that was Rob. Added some nice Red Sox cards to the PC. He had some great deals, and I wish he was set up at more shows.

There was a lot of non-card sport dealers, which is a nice change from the brutal onslaught of beanie babies and star wars toys that pop up at the other shows. But I wish more people had cards. Lots of interesting vintage table though.

Anyways, that's my report. I won't bother going back tomm, especially with the $10 admission fee.

Were the Hooters girls still there? I thought that was kind of awkward having them selling calendars.

No, they must have left already. Did they bring any crappy Hooter's food? What Lars parallels did you pick up?
